I guess PG&E could just sever their power lines where it enters your property. Then they would not have to come onto your property to cut trees or repair the lines. But you would have to run on a generator and with $5 gas that might get expensive this winter.
Very good point! And next summer if the lines go down....more fires causes by arching wires.

Since when does PG&E or anyone for that matter have the right to enter private property and start hacking????
PG&E contractors do it on my place all the time in the name of "Vegetation Management". I assume PG&E is trying to avoid situations of liability such as recently befell Union Pacific.

They claim they "manage" combustible vegetation in the State Responsibility Area. My place is not within the SRA, but you can't tell them anything. They only know what their supervisor tells them.

If these agencys didn't care about life and suffering they would have let all of the houses burn, with the people in them. Give me a break! The worst complaint is trees and what people had to do to risk their lives to save you??? My God, no wonder people are shying away from becoming public servants! You really need to get a life.

<quoted text>----------I HAVE NO CONNECTION WITH ANY SUPERTANKER CONPANY (never have). I advocate the Supertankers because it's the right thing to do to save lives and property. I guess some people find that hard to believe, perhaps because they themselves worship only money, like CalFire and the USFS, and care nothing for life or suffering.

What a bunch of idiots. The reason for the fire getting out of control is because you 100 year old and dead trees on these properties. OK, don't cut them down, who should we send the bill to for fighting this fire. It will run you about $50,000,000.00

The P.G.&.E crews we met were very helpful, cleaning and stacking the trees in the areas around power lines on our property. They also cut a lot of trees that weren't anywhere close to the power lines, they made a new road to access the area which did us a big favor,Kudos to them.A few logging companies are advertising in the area, clear cut for cash it seems.
They are busy at the end of Concow road.
A good part of the area is being clear cut, it doesn't matter at this point, the area looks like Moonscape already.
The winter rains are coming.

These forums aren't moderated by newspapers. So don't associate the idiots with anyone other than themselves.

How long after a fire do you harass people with this super tanker crap?
You could have the tankers water the new trees that P.G.& E. said they were planting, that's all their good for now in Concow, go away.

Fire hasn't burned through Yellow Wood Rd in the last 30 years, as he claims his trees have survived wildfires every ten years. Our property is right next to his and his statement is untrue.

Here is one for Ed the super tanker whiner.

The Los Angeles Times continues its series on wildfires and the people who fight them with a story about expensive -- and often ineffective -- "CNN drops."

"Fire commanders say they are often pressured to order planes and helicopters into action on major fires even when the aircraft won't do any good. Such pressure has resulted in needless and costly air operations, experienced fire managers said in interviews," the paper says. "The reason for the interference, they say, is that aerial drops of water and retardant make good television. They're a highly visible way for political leaders to show they're doing everything possible to quell a wildfire, even if it entails overriding the judgment of incident commanders on the ground."

THE SMALL TANKERS YOU MENTION ARE NOT EFFECTIVE AGAINST OUT OF CONTROL WILDFIRES BUT THE SUPERTANKERS ARE THE FINAL SOLUTION as they can lay down a fire retardant line 25,000 feet long in about 34 seconds with a single drop which is what we need.
What an idiot. Ed you're lying and you know it. From the waterbomber.org web site:

"In its smaller 100,000 pound version, this patented system is capable of depositing more than 3,608-3,937 ft x 263-295 ft of liquid in one 8-10 second pass"

You got that? About 4,000 feet, or 21,000 feet fewer than the BS you're claiming.
