While I applaud Novotny for being willing to take on Kern, she's got a tough row to hoe, because it's a really conservative district. In last year's election, despite the fact that Sally had pretty much made herself a national laughingstock for being the fringe on the lunatic fringe of the rabid right, she STILL won with almost 58% of the vote.

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

In case you are curious as to why Kern is such a nut job, I found it on the web. She showed her Christian Web by kicking out of her family her gay son.

Of course, her husband is a baptist minister. the church that came into being to support slavery, and was the backbone supporting the KKK that brougt segregation.

People like her and her husband should be kicked out of the country and sent to the Taliban in afghanistan as a peace offering. Include a couple video cams, so we are sure to see the entertainment.

Holy crap! She really is that cold and heartless!
How can anyone see a mother who does not love her own children without precondition and something not truely abhorrent? If what you said is what happened, she's either completly cold, or messed up in the head.

Since Ms Kern is supposedly a "Christian" woman who is ordered by the Bible to submit to her (Baptist preacher) husband, I have to wonder who is really calling the shots in her legislative office. This, of course, shouldn't absolve her from the consequences of her actions but it sure does say a lot about her constituents.

Ms Novotny would have my vote, if I lived in her district.

I hope she disowns me.If I want to watch perfect looking Baptists on television,I'll watch old reruns of the Lawrence Welk Show.
