Brian K. Naseman was more than a Sergeant (SGT). His official rank was Sergeant First Class (SFC). There's a huge difference between the two ranks. Please show him the proper respect.
Still here too

I'd like to echo that last man's comments. Two grades difference, to be precise. That's why soldiers don't respect the media, because you always get those little, but important, things wrong when it counts.

Why wasnt he guarding Wisconsin?

Thousands dead, billions wasted on a WAR we will not, cannot and do not deserve to win.

The USA will win one thing in the Mid EAST....REGRET.

So keep sending your kids and wasting billions...for nothing.

To the uneducated knucklehead who obviously has never served a day in the military.. He didnt die for "nothing". He died for you... One of the people who uses the death of a hero to shoot off your politically slanted opinion. Do all of us who serve our country a favor... Keep your comments yourself!

ratttlecattle - If you truely did serve in the armed forces then we probably don't have to point out the lack professionalism and respect you are showing for our fallen brother with your posting. Although I don't agree with your opinion, I do fight for your right to have and voice it. Do us all, yourself included (veterans) a huge favor and save your negative commentary for a more appropriate forum. SFC Naseman was one of the finest soldiers to ever serve and, frankly, deserves much better.

Stay safe brothers and thanks for serving.

I agree. SFC Naseman was one of the best soldiers I ever had the honor of working under.

Brian was one of my best friends growing up in NB and I would greatly appreciate your not using his death as a means to bicker over your political views. Please respect him for the person that he was and respect the memory of all of our fallen military. Matt Knost

This is not done to disrespect anyone. Many civilians use the short title and it is not improper to do.

It's the same thing when they call Marines soldiers. Or when a Lance Corporal is referred to as a Corporal. Many of the ranks that contain SGT in them are very often referred to as only sergeant.

Also, this casualty has not been identified officially by the DoD. So this means the media received this info from a source other then an official one.

Thank you Matt! I was completely disgusted with the comments that were posted. Some people have no class or common sense. As a spouse of a deployed marine and an American, if you can't support our troops, feel free to stand in front of them!

He is DEAD...not fallen. Quit trying to candy coat the truth.

I RESPECT the Thousands of INNOCENT people our military have KILLED.

He lived by the sword if he was in the Military, he took his chances and lost OH WELL.

If you want to show respect, I suggest you look at how this war was started. The USA wanted its UGLY REVENGE...now they have it....TOUGH.

Death and revenge is what the USA wanted...now live with it!

I played baseball with Brian for St. Mary's Legion. He was a great person. My thoughts are with his family. Thanks for your kind comments.

As for you rattlecattle the words that I want to say would just make me sound ignorant but since I'm not I'll keep the swearing to a minimum.
I know I shouldn't even waste my time writing this because people like you are incapable of realizing they don't know what they are talking aboout.
What kind of a person would use a news forum where people are talking about their dead comrad to voice their politcal opinons.
Whether you are right or wrong makes no difference because you are attacking a man's memory that is very important to a lot of people including me, who has served under SFC Naseman on and off since 2005 to include our last deployment. He was an incredible man and even if you don't think he did anything for his country(which he did) he did a lot for me personally and everyone one else he knew. As far as us not wanting to talk about blood and gore well maybe thats because I sleep a few hundred yards from where he died and have to walk past it for the next several monthes and that's about all of the gore I can handle right now. So leave it alone because you form your opinion from what you hear and ours come from what we see and live everyday.
I would love to bring you here and turn you loose in front of me and my buddies who have a lot of anger and frustration built up about this, but i know guys like you are only brave when they can hide behind a computer.
If you have anymore comments about this and just have to get it out just email me instead of posting it where all the people who are grieving this terrible loss have to see it. by the way my email is bacrane8@aol.com if you can find a way to keep your opinions about his death to yourself.

Americans are incapable of learning from history.

Do you remember when German soldiers followed their flag to their deaths for the fatherland, they died not for Germany and their damn flag but for the lies and mistakes of a foolish leader.

THAT is exactly what american soldiers are doing in the Mideast today.

Your GRIEF...try multiplying that grief by 100 thousand..THAT is what this war has caused.

Your grief is personal, but this soldiers unfortunate demise is just a statistic to the people in Washington DC that are responsible for it.

So you keep greiving and sending more troops....just keep sending them.

One day you people are going to figure it out.

Each soldiers death is a potential lesson,I suggest you learn something.

You said "me and my buddies have a lot of anger and frustration built up about this".

YOU and your buddies need to GO HOME and reflect on all the death and destruction US forces have caused.

YOU and you buddies are part of the UGLY US killing machine that has hammered IRAQ.

What if IRAQI Army "Heroes" were kicking in the doors in your hometown, bombing your hometown?

Death, Destruction, rape ,torture and murder. that is the footprint of war, our terror forces are guilty of it all.

How many innocent Iraqis have died because of US HEROES? You do not care...you just care about your buddies, not our victims.

A soldiers death is unfortunate and sad...but I mourn the innocent civilians that suffer far more than the "Merchants of Death".

To the monsters that started this war in Washington DC you are just statistics, do not forget it.

Thank you so much!!! I totally agree! I can't believe people can be so disrespectful. I knew Brian growing up to, and I applaud him and all of our military for caring enough about our country and it's people to put their lives on the line. Remember rattlecattle, there was no draft for this war, these men and women were brave and courageous and offered to stand up for our country. True American heroes that deserve to be commended not disrespected by your coward butt that chooses to hide behind a computer and bash a great man for his ultimate sacrifice. Rattle cattle, I hope someday you are lucky enough to cross paths with Brian...knowing Brian, he will shake your hand, pat you on the back and with smile and a chuckle he will tell you "You're full of shit!"

I never once "bashed" this soldier, I merely pointed out the truth.

He never fought for his country...he might have fought for the mistakes of his country's last political regime.

Is being part of the US TERRORIST MACHINE...good?

Ask all those DEAD Iraqis? Go ahead ask the people we always slaughter with our HIGH TECH TERROR. We are just making it worse with our stupidity.

Al Queda is a low tech terror organization, our military is a high tech terror organization, but they have the turf and the advantage of time. They will win by default as we lie our way out of this war.

The US Military is so dangerous it is hurting the USA more than anyone else.

The USA never stops bombing and killing....but we are the heroes...sure...sure

Bury your dead...and send more kids..the QUAGMIRE in the Mideast is still hungry...keep sending those heroes...the sands of the mideast will devour them all.

Obviously, this life that has been lost is not your family member. Do you REALLY have to comment your political bull when a life has been lost??? Are you even human? A life has been lost. He was a son, a husband, a father, a brother, an uncle and a cousin. My cousin. You may have claimed to have "served" in the military BUT a human military person would NEVER use the death of a soldier to spout off their political antics. SO SHUT UP!!!!!!!! You are the idiot.
To the "Naseman Family" we are so saddened for your loss and with deepest sympathy we are so sorry people are stupid and spout politcal antics.
Wrong Again...bama boy
He did die for something...the lies of the Bush Administration.
Now BIMBO...I "served" in the military most likely before your MOM was wiping your stinky butt.
Now keep sending KIDS to your WAR which will never be won.
Keep going billions in debt...the USA is worse than Bankrupt now.
No matter what I say or You say.....we are losers in this war...get it thru your granite head.
Those fanatics will never give up and will win by default.
We will run out of lies and money before we can kill em all ..dummy
