Survey finds gas prices up about 15 cents over past 2 weeks

I don't know about the rest you posters here but,I for one am ready to trade my truck in for a team of horses and wagons...at least what you feed them comes back out and is usable to farm and plant with. ; P

Gas where I am is ranging from $3.49 to $4.25 a gallon.

This is not a supply and demand problem. This is a speculative problem. On the futures market say 5 investors buy 10 million barrels of oil. Now there is a shortage, the price goes up and they sell. They never take delivery, they did not even have to buy the oil, and they pay for it after the sale. This happened in Roosevelt’s time, at that time around 1940 he pull oil off the market and anyone that was to buy oil had to take delivery of it. After the war it was put back on the market.

our president leaves office in about 7 months him and his family our stock holders in oil companies at least that is what i have heard i guess will see in 8 months .

But he was great man unlike Bush who beleives in using fear on the American people! We must stop the republican christian party that presses fear into our socioty, start wars and destroy our constitutional rights with their biblical fables!

Ladies and gentlemen it is time to drill for oil in our own country. We have the technology to drill Alaska and other places without causing harm to the environment. We need to have our refineries increase efficiency and buy ourselves some time to develop alternative fuels and energy. But for now, lets drill our own oil and create some jobs in the process.

While drilling for oil in the US is fine it’s a short term solution. Solar and wind will never provide enough power for the US but nuclear can. We need 75-100 new nuclear power plants in the US. If the Nuclear Regulatory Commission could agree on 2 nuclear power plant plans and approve them, and also assure power companies that won’t be sued every time they pour a yard of concrete then electric will be dirt cheap. Electric cars while they don't do everything like trucking and construction they will provide 98% of the driving out there. Chevy is coming out with a car called a Volt that can go around 100 miles on a charge, and a company from Norway is bringing an electric car to the US later this year. It could be a good way to go.

Keno, I don't know, now I agree with you on constitutional rights. I don't think any clear educated person thinks that the Bible is full of fables. But as far as stopping the republicans who do you suggest? Obama? He is a socialist-Marxist. He wants socialized healthcare, the Social Security Administration just discovered they paid out 10's of millions of dollars to people that was not supposed to get payments. Do you really the government running in health care? Obama loves taxes. I like the Fair Tax.
Now I'm not a fan of war, but we need to finish what we start. We have not had an attack here since 9/11. I prefer to keep it that way. Now I am not a fan of McCain because of immigration and host of other things. I hate to say it he is the lesser of 2 evils.

Like the tech stock bubble at the millenia, the recent housing bubble, investors have to put money somewhere...right now, it's oil. I hope all these investors that are driving up oil prices, lose their shirts, when oil comes crashing down. I suspect that once the reports on gas usage for the Memorial Day Holiday come out, $/barrel of oil will take a dive. I just hope it is a large enough dive for gas pump prices to come down significantly.
