Anyone has any info on the condos and the neighborhood? Is it quiet? or am I better off in the city? How far is the metro north?
Lexington Hills is actually a VERY very quiet neighborhood! Beautiful views from 2nd & 3rd stories, close to the park which is phenomenal. And all the shopping you could ever want is a mile away. The bus to the city stops down the street, about .25 miles and you can park in the lot for free to catch it. The train station is 1.5 mi away from the complex. Plus there is never a parking issue, at least by my building (#24) there is tons of visitor spaces. The only downfall is the high maint. fee. Right now it's crazy, at $360 but the up side is that they are doing lots of construction to make it look better.

Lexington Hills Condominiums are beautiful, especially building 8 which is located in the back of the complex by the new pool because it is more private. There are great views of the mountains and we are a mile from the train station. Harriman is great because it is centrally located and close to shopping and restaurants. The maintenance fees are $350/mo. It is great for a single woman in her 30s. Chester is a little too far from everything. Actually, I think there is one for sale in building 8.... good luck with your search!!!!!!
I bought my condo in Lex Hills about a year and a half ago, and I love it. Only reason why I wanna sell this coming year is because I wanna do Peacecorps or I'd definitely stay here for years and years. It's great! I looked at Chester, Whispering Hills and it was a toss up. BUT 2 FULL bathrooms..who can beat that?! All the other condo complexes have one and a half. Plus Chester is further from the city, and it's overcrowded and noisy. Plus the layout is a little unsettling, which your NEIGHBORS garage under your bedroom! Annoying is all I can say.

Your website sucks. Advertise somewhere else. There were no photos and if there were, your website is difficult to navigate. Real estate people are so uneducated with the internet for some reason.

As a ex-resident of Harriman Hills I 100% reccommend Lexington. Do not buy anything at Harriman Hills there are huge noise issues in the ceilings of lowqer units (Try dealing with Tom Tshinkle and you will know what I mean) that the board will not address. The management company, Archway is probabaly the worst around. The people on the board are unethical and the whole place is mismanaged and falling apart.
You are much better off at Lexington.BEWARE OF HARRIMAN HILLS!!!!!!

I just moved here a few months ago and I don't know about low income ~ both my husband and I work and while we get by ~ we're not putting thousands into savings. I love teh complex, a lot of rules and its hard to contact anyone to ask questions but the 3rd floor units are fabulous. The cathedral ceilings and view from my place make my evening.

Tommy,

It's totally different from any other place that has been "infested" with the thugs and crime that have been seen in Warwick complexes as well as Chester / Whispering Hills area.

I moved here 3 yrs ago and there are many families, elderly, and newly started out couples.

I think you'll find relief here.

I've lived in Whispering Hills and there were shootings, gangs, and other life-threatening things that I would never want my children around. My husband is a cop and has reported several of these incidents. I'd rather walk up a few flight of stairs than live in the ghetto of Chester. I'm sorry, but that is one dangerous area. Maybe you're not home enough to see what goes on in your own backyard? We have tons of reports on people moving here from the city (less than desirable places) and their kids developing gangs and selling drugs in the Whispering Hills community AND surrounding areas.
Look it up. Ask a realtor. It's not unknown.
My mother worked in Whispering Hills and quit due to safety issues there. There is a panic button on the wall in the clubhouse that goes right to9 police!

Hoa is currently $360/month. only $220 of that is Hoa fees. the rest is for the improvements they are doing. they have already redone the pool from ground up. they are redoing roofs, siding and foundations. not to mention the retaining walls and railing and walkways. basically the whole place is being redone. there is a place in north rockland area that redid their entire complex, and the values increased about $70,000-100,000 per unit......
thats the good.....the bad,
i live in a lower unit, the day of my closing, back in 2006, i had a huge leak in my bedroom. apparently everyone but me know about this. the association told me they would be repairing the foundation as they were aware of the problem. two years later another leak, and foundation had not been touched yet. i had to move as the mold killed my asthma. i went over a year not living in the unit and stopped paying my common charges.....
they finally fixed it in october of 2008, and i have since then payed all my back common charges... i shouldnt have been responsible for them to begin with as the mold inspector said it was unlivable......
anyway, now i receive a letter stating i cant use my pool because i owe $8,200 in fines and legal fees???????? wtf????????
i thought i was the victim here? i have sent in numerous letters and phone calls to the management and have not received one reply yet. my correspondence has gone on for about a year with no answers or replies from anyone. anyone on the board can fill me in?

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Cancer

Hold it! You need to approach things in a calm, controlled manner today otherwise you're likely to get yourself into a state in no time at all. That's especially likely if you're trying to meet a deadline because you'll start to panic and then become all fingers and thumbs. You might also get extremely ratty with anyone who gets in your way or asks stupid questions. Come on, is that fair?
