Our state lost 3 upstanding citizens and continues to support two of the most vile scum on this planet.
Justice will move at a snail's pace as long as there is something in the system for such bottom feeders as Atty. Groggins. These three people meant something to a lot of people - just do some Googling and one will see just how much the victims are missed to this day. As far as the Cheshire police go - it was Freddy & Jason visit Maybury - a horror story that the town had never seen before and could not immagine happening there. It was long recognized that Joshua was beyond correctin, punishment and removal from society was the only solutions. Steve Hayes also showed signs that he did not belong intermixing with the restof society, but our state hospitals are mostly closed. 50 years ago this horror story may not have happened as such ype of individuals were remoed from society as to prevent such tragdies. We need to learn that ways of our parents and grandparents had certain merit to them before we just change for the sake of change. |

1 I agree. While this was tragic, we need to move on. Marathons and anniversaries are not going to change what happened. |

1 If your wife and two daughters are violated and murdered most gruesomely, I'll be sure to tell you to move on....about a year later. No one cares about you and whether or not you're sick of hearing about it. |

You people who have nothing but negatives to say are all completely heartless. I'm appalled at some of these comments.Y ou have no sympathy and no compassion. If you don't want to watch the news stories on this topic, then change the channel. If you don't want to read about it, don't CLICK into the story! Dr. Petit is trying to raise awareness about MS and other things his wife and children were involved in. You should BE THE CHANGE!

1 Actually the marathon and other benefits are going to help. If you read about the event and other events prior to this the proceeds are going out to different funds that will help with MS research, scholarships etc, so yes they are going to help. |

1 Bad things happen to extraordinary people all of the time...it is just the press hyping a story...sad but true! They shouldn't just focus on a weathy "extraordinary" family, they never bring up the poor/average "extraordinary" families because frankly I don't think they care and it isn't sensational enough to put a janitor's or laborer's family in the news... |
|
I agree 100%. The next time anyone out there who has said negative things, if anything tragic like that happens in your family, be sure and let all of us readers know when you move on and get over it. Anyone who has said something stupid like that is just plain heartless. |

1 I understand they were a good family but home invasions that end in murder, rape, etc. happen everywhere and all the time. Why makes these people so special, is it money mabye? |

1 I think it is the idea that two young girls died - not adults, but children. The circumstances in which they spent the last hours of their young lives were so horrific - and one can only imagine the terror they felt and that their mother felt as she tried so valiantly to save them. It's the idea that if something so bad can happen to such a good family - one that gave so much of themselves to others, that it could happen to any one of us too. If you feel that it's time for you to move on, go right ahead. It's not up to you to decide for the rest of us when WE are ready to do so. And you are mistaken - crimes like this don't happen "all the time". Thank God. |

on july 22, 1977 nine people, nine, were killed by a man who broke into their home. nine were killed. Why don't we hear anything about this anymore. Why don't hear anything or I should say why didn't hear anything more several days after this tragedy, it was because the people were not wealthy. The Beaudoin murder WAS the worst home invasion crime in Connecticu

That wasn't a home invasion - a member of the family was arrested, tried and convicted of the killings. I agree with you though, it was a horrific crime. I still remember when I heard about it - it was the first time I ever was afraid to be alone in my home at night. At the time, there was a lot of publicity about it as well as about the trial and there were also stories published for several years that cast doubt on whether the person convicted, Lorne Acquin was the real killer. There were also stories published in the Waterbury paper on the first anniversary of the murders. As the years passed, people tended to forget about the case and about Acquin who is serving 9 sentences of 25 years to life. I have not forgotten that case. Every time I pass the cemetary where the family is buried I think of them. |

Just say "no" to reading stories about the Petits. Easy enough to cure your "sickness" and the rest of us won't have to put up with your whining. |

1 its not whinning cant watch the news, pick up a paper or listen to the radio with out gearing about this god awful tragity. |
So what do you do every 9/11? Do you start complaining when people mark the anniversary of that tragedy? Because people are going to remember that day year after year after year. Just like 7/23 will never be the same day for Dr. Petit, so holds true for 9/11. I agree with what people have said, you don't like, don't watch it. |
