The answer is YES! We should pass the bond. We should stop blaming the School Board for buying the land, its a done deal. Its time we use our heads and now do something with the land. Its just sitting there. Think about our children's future, your children's future. That's just my opinion. I realize there will be several others
who have a different one. It just makes since to build a new school.

Yeah its ironic that the people in Indy can't spend any money, and you get a dollar from em and its like robbing the bank. People need to realize that yeah when you went to school there 40 yrs ago and "everything was fine" and you haven't been back into the buildings since everything in them must be fine and dandy but there not. Students should be given the best chance to get an education. Look at the studies class rooms to hot or to cold creates wondering minds = right out the ears edu. thats for anyone grade school, middle, or high and colleges. If there not comfort controlled it doesn't matter they learn little if anything. Also everything is technology centered now the middle school built 100 yrs ago is historic but served its purpose and it not up to the modern day education.
Also I think its bad that Indy had the most millionaires per capita yet those folks don't do a darn thing for our community. So donations would be beneficial.

Well I for one am going to vote NO ....again and again and again...till they quit trying to shove this down our taxpayer throats..
I would like them to explain to US ppl that are retired on fixed incomes or on soc sec or disabled, after we pay our property taxes, tag taxes, health bills, prescription bills, pay our premiums for medicare and life insur and pay dr bills and everything else..where do we get the money for food to eat for our families????
LET alone keep spending county taxpayer money wastefully I might add on this election, each time they bring it up...
Do a county wide tax , dont put it on the property taxes were taxed to death as is in MG county, one of the highest in KANSAS...So again and again I will keep voting NO NO NO...and so will E1 ELSE i know....

I think it is interesting that Indy is so full of PRIDE about most things but don't give a darn about the students or the impression they leave on visiting schools. Every town around them has new schools. That should be embarrassing for them! Yeah, they have high taxes but it's not because they are proud of their schools! They want the best Neewollah, downtown, etc., etc. Their school system sucks and I feel sorry for the teachers and principals fighting the home folks! Why do they not have a good football team? Because they are raising their kids to be pampered spoiled brats with new cars, brand name clothes and 'you don't have to take that' from a coach' etc. They do NOT have their priorities in order. I know of families that didn't move to Indy because of their school system. I wouldn't either! And while I am on a roll, their greatest asset is Riverside Park and Zoo. And their city manager fights every penny spent on that park. If it weren't for volunteers and organizations it wouldn't be the best park around! Sad! Those volunteers and organizations should start working on the schools, too.
Just one person's opinion!

I have a better idea. Someone needs to approach Cessna and ask them since they've been living tax free in our community since they built the buildings, maybe they could fork over some money for the schools. When they came, there were supposed to be all these people moving to town to work there but that never happened. They couldn't afford the taxes so everyone moved to Oklahoma and just commutes. Maybe they could "donate" some of that tax money they never paid, or will ever pay. Would help our community and make them look good too. Just a thought.

LMAOOO what is up your lower extremities. The new school is for our children, and who wouldn't do, all they could possibly do, to better our childrens future? We all would. I agree our property taxes are to high in MG no argument, here. Taxes are just part of life. Wouldn't you like to see a child in INDY benefit from a new school or schools. Weigh out the pros, and cons and get ALL the facts about a new school if you still feel the same then vote NO! Its your right. But for our childrens sake, please get facts.

That theory of the schools being old doesn't fly with me. All the ivy league schools (Harvard, Princeton, Yale, etc) are pretty old and kids seem to learn just fine in them. What we need to do if Cessna won't bail us out is just repair what needs repaired at a fraction of the cost of building new. We can fix what is broken.

Well whats up my lower extremities is people like you, who think money grows on trees. When you've walked a mile in my shoes or lived a day in my life, then come and talk to me and others on fixed incomes and the elderly who worry about how they are going to pay taxes on their houses we've worked our whole life to pay off, worry about our medications how to pay for them, worry about how we are going to pay off hospital, doctor bills, electric bills, gas bills, water and sewer bills, a phone bill in case we need to dial 911, or would you rather we just raise a red flag outside our home and hope someone sees it? We worry how do we pay home ins, car ins health ins and everything else that one has to pay each month to just exist. We worry if were gonna have enough money to buy groceries for the week let alone the month....
Money to put gas in the car to get us to town to the doctors or store to buy groceries .
And If we happen to have $10.00 left over for the month we give thanks to GOD !!!
Or would you rather we send in that 10 bucks so that you can waste it on having elections after elections to keep voting down this thing down.
Do a county wide tax sale on it. That I would give you.
But I'll be damned if the school district is gonna get my last dollar to waste to keep bringing up elections, to waste my tax dollars!!!
OR lets reform the school district regulations, laws or whatever you want to call them, and if you have children in school THE PARENTS PAY the BIGGEST share of their schooling!!!HOW bout them apples ????
Let them do a county wide sales tax to finance updates on the schools in existence . No need for new school.
Thanks just my thoughts!!!

People use to go to a one room school house ---how about looking into paying teachers more and getting better teachers? The best teachers could teach in an open field!

Indy has some great teachers. LMA000 they are your views, and you are entitled to them, but something as stupid as your last post should be kept to yourself. I heard somewhere that "It is better, to be thought stupid, than to open mouth, and remove all doubt."
