For the record, SGI does not oppose affordable housing developments, as this article states. In fact, a look at SGI's website shows our plan for increasing affordable housing production.
We do opposde 40B developments, and will continue to do so, until the effort to repeal the law succeeds. The Sun once wrote an opinion peice about decieving voters. It would appear that THE SUN is now decieving readers to make its own political point. Let's stop developing open space while we still have some left to enjoy. |

I just love the fact they think they have the right to speak for the town.
Newsflash SGI.......town meeting gave Paul Cohen a huge ovation when he said he was planning to stay with the town for many years to come...... Just in case you don't get it......nobody agrees with your malicious attacks on our town |

When you say "no one agrees" what you mean is, no politician agrees. And that is just fine with us. We work for the residents of this state and the residents of Chelmsford, both groups OVERWHELMINGLY agree with our position of slow growth.
In Chelmsford specifically, people strongly dislike Paul Cohen. If he was an elected official, he would have been gone a long time ago. Unfortunatly, only the BOS can get rid of him. Since his appointment, every single board member who put him in place is gone. Soon, those who support him will also be gone in April. No one has ever refuted the facts we put in our letters, they just dont like them because they are "mean". Why aren't you furious that your town officials have done NOTHING to stop 40B? Why aren't you furious that your property taxes keep going up? Why aren't you furious that they want to develop on the ball fields? Why aren't you furious that it takes you 20 minutes get through the center of town at most times of the day? Why aren't you furious that there are water restrictions in every district, yet they continue to insist we should build more? You shouldn't be mad at us, you should be mad at them for destroying your town. Unless of course you are one of them... |

Very Good Post and Yes, they are one of them.. Thats why they get all feisty when they are called to account and cannot make money at the expense of others. It actually takes more than 20 minutes to go from the former rotary to near South Row. Street lights on every corner, when less than 12 years ago there were none, really good planning there, accidents have INCREASED by 35%, who was voted the traffic planning position btw? You could write a book on the Town of Chelmsford and Call it "A Tale of Epic Failures" |

You and your group are so full of it.. We are lucky to have Paul as our town manager... and no, I'm not working for the town in any way or even know any of the people running the town for that matter, but I am an informed and involved citizen. Sending out those ridiculous flyers talking about a "high rise" being built behind the fire stating..give me a break...that just shows how ignorant your group is. You just made it sound like we were going to have a new Prudential tower in the center of town to get people to vote your way... what a load. I for one, hope Paul Cohen stays here for a long time. |

This project should not be allowed to move forward. Phil, as a former selectman and current member of the master plan commitee, cannot claim ignorance of the restrictions in place on this property or the spirit of them. He and daddy just think they can run this over the town and get what they want. That's a nice piece of land that should be left alone. Do we really need more traffic trying to turn back onto North Road from the Massbank exit. Shame on the Eliopoulos clan. This project is an insult to the town.
Did anyone read this two weeks ago on wickedlocal: Dated Oct 16, 20009 Chelmsford — Residents are hoping the town’s Master Plan will put preserving open space and historic buildings at the forefront of its list of priorities. Philip Eliopoulos, vice chairman of the committee, said residents at the final public input session on the Master Plan earlier this month stressed the importance of ensuring the town use the open space it has to the fullest capacity. “They want to make sure it is looked after, kept clean and it has a purpose,” said Eliopoulos. |

Frankly, Phil & others just believe they have the right to cash in at the expense of the taxpayers. After all, the taxpayers don't decide - just the insiders who serve themselves. Thanks for the service Phil (both of them). We would have declined all of it if we had understood your price.
And many on the BOS (Mr Dalton included) consistently choose to benefit their cronies and stick it the taxpayers. So don't look for appropriate behavior there when BOS decides about the merits of open space. Our town manager won't do just that - it might prevent him from getting his next job. So much for making it a professional position. We're stuck & we need BOS members who don't have their own conflict of interest going. |
