????????? Parents need to get their children under control and on a tighter leash. My children never would have thought about getting into my car or anyone elses when they were young because I parented my children and taught them right from wrong.

Are you serious? No matter how you parent your kids accidents happen! These poor people have lost their baby and it was an accident! Susie wrote: ????????? I agree with you Susie. Parents should have to go through intensive parenting classes and learn how to be parents instead of friends to their kids. My children also would have NEVER thought about getting into a vehicle and playing because I taught them how dangerous it can be. I would also like to know how a 3 year old got the car in reverse or drive? The only way a gear shift can be moved these days is if the vehicle was actually running. If the car was running, then why? I would also like to know how a 3 year old gets the hatch open. I find it hard as an adult to get these open and closed....how did this 3 year old do it? I agree the car ran over that poor baby, but I believe the parents are hiding how is actually happened. I have come to realize that lying is the American way and people get away with murder everyday because this has become the devils world where lying, cheating and stealing are acceptable.

Susie, OBVIOUSLY, you have no heart. How could you say that to two people who just lost their child???? This is truly a very tragic accident, and only God knows why. You have no right to judge anyone. let these people grieve in peace. It will be many, many years before they over come this, if at all. May God be there for this family.

Citizen, I have a heart. I am just so tired of hearing about all these babies dying because of stupidity. Gee, if he opened the hatch then why didn't someone go through and pull the boy out of the car? We just stand outside and try to get him to come out??? I agree with Dan, someone is not telling the whole truth. But as you have out, only God knows the real truth and why.

It is certainly tragic but it also seems preventable. There are so many things the parents could and maybe should have done. I'm sure they are heartbroken.

Come on everyone why must it always be the parents fault? I am not a parent and even I know from once being a kid that soon as you turn your head a kid could have run off. Stop blaming the parents and maybe you should blame yourself for not taking a step back and looking at the whole picture. You werent there and neither was I so dont be so quick to judge. It shouldnt matter where someone lives we are all people.

So Sad. My heart goes out for the Family. Children often do things because they won't listen and obey the parents, I've seen it too many times. The parents can't keep yelling at them, and it seems they neglect to use stricker deterents, like a swift paddle on the behind and exclusion from the activities.Spare the rod, spoil the child. However it happened, it is something they will never forget nor ever want to remember. God Bless.

I am the mother of the responding Deputy Sheriff of this terrible freak accident. And that is what it was ...A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT......no one is to blame. Sometimes bad tings happen to good people. It's hard to understand why things like this happen. God just needed a little boy Angel ....so he picked Skyler. Instead of preaching about bad parents or their parenting skills .....how about saying a prayer for them. How about calling the sheriff's office and offer your help to the famliy. Maybe even with funeral expenses ........Have a heart !

it doesn't matter why they have different last names. i'm married and i chose to keep my last name. the van was not on. i know these people. she was getting the 3 yr old out out the van when it happened! she was being a parent! my 3yr old can open every door of my van even the sliding side door. on top of that, one of my doors doesn't lock. sometimes things happen. why don't you go to 'the bottoms' or the near east side, the short north. take a look at what columbus actually looks like. i lived in columbus my whole life, that's why i moved here. isn't this a case of 'the pot calling the kettle black'?
