Parent... If I had known YOU were the one that started this forum, I wouldn't have commented at all! You are clearly "CRYING" about someone telling on you so, what exactly are you doing on here?! Pot calling the kettle black? The out of district issue involves other schools and children, not just yours and it's not ALL ABOUT SPORTS. Yes, they are doing this with ALL SCHOOLS not just the HIGH SCHOOLS!! I am clueless? Your words doesn't bother me a bit and I'm not going to argue with you! I have read all of your comments and they are out right disrespectful and demeaning! Cussing every other word really makes you sound like a very mature adult! I sure hope children are not reading your comments because we don't need you as a role model for our kids!

No where in this thread does anyone mention a North Murray Football player being out of district. The "parent" is the only one crying about it. He must have a son playing for NMHS that is out of district. If that is the case why is he crying and bringing so much attention this this. He is clearly violating the rules, if this is the case. Most NMHS student were grandfathered in because of AYP. It is sad to see MCHS lose so badly, but we are not against NMHS. I hope they beat Cartersville and have a very sucessful season.

No I dont have a son at all but I do know for a fact that the ppl from MCHS are the ones that got all this started and that came straight from a member of the school board..You may not have a problem with NM but apparently alot of other ppl backing MCHS do...If they are going to be complaining to the school board about something why not make it something that really matters like kids bringing guns to school not who's winning or not winning a football game..I hate it that MCHS isnt winning but it has nothing to do with what child goes to what school.

Thanks for clearing that up. Some of your post reads as you have a son, now you are say you don't. Maybe if they are complaining to the school board it is about everyone wanting to go to the new school and hey who wouldn't want to go to a new nice school. Again if one child goes out of district then it should be ok for every child that wants to. It must be an important issue to the school board or they wouldn't be making every principal go to the trouble to see if the students are in the right district.

Substitutes cannot send their chidlren to the school of their choice. Substitutes are no longer staffed through the school system but by a Temporary Staffing Company in Dalton. Ateend some board meetings and you would know this.

I will say this My daughter was grandfathered into NMHS. She went 1 week. She was offered drugs during class. MCHS isn't perfect BUT MY OPINION neither is NMHS. They have fights, they have bullies, they have some bad teachers, and they only started winning games in football this year. My daughter is a proud Indian and I am too. It isn't always about winning the game. It's sad that grown ass people get on here and put everyone else down. Where did ur kids learn to bully you ask? Read your comments. That's where. Yes I will protect my child yes I will protect your child if I see someone picking on them that I think they shouldn't be. Am I crazy some people say I am. I say no I am not. I just can't stand all the fighting one school against the other. Are there kids at MCHS that is suppose to go to NMHS yes they are. But that's because they didn't want to go to NM. Big deal what school your child wants to go to. Big deal if the football teams win or lose. We all need to support the schools our kids go to. And topix isn't the place to start such a silly thread. Blow it off and move on. This has been a fight every year. If there was still one school in this county ALL the kids would be going to it. It's really too bad that our county has grown and we needed 2 schools. There isn't any reason for us as parents to pit one school against the other. Oh MCHS is better no NMHS is better. For Pete's sake it's Murray county we are all good!

An MCHS cheerleader was forced to leave last week because records show that her brother is attending NMHS with an address for that district and she was attending MCHS using a different address.

I have been hearing from people at the Superintendents Office that it will be an across system enforcement and that will include system employees. The only way you can be out of district is if you teach at that school and want your child there with you. Once they are out of say Woodlawn or Coker or wherever you teach, they will then have to go to the proper districted school. I have no problem with this if the rules apply the same for everyone.....but we'll see.....this county never works like that.

I'm still comfused what any of this has to do with how our children learn or the well being of our child? We are involving social workers that should be doing more important things than seeing if a child lives where they say! No children are endangered here so why are they involved? Is this costing our school system more money? I don't see how? I say we're spending more money for a few students and making a big moral problem in the entire county. We have more serious issues to deal with than this!!!!!!!!! Money better spent on other things at this time. Teachers have furrlow days and we are chasing rabbits!!!!

For some reason they don't want to deal with the bigger and more important problems. They just want to choose the "easiest" way to make then look like they are "doing their job", which in reality is hurting kids in the long run. I am truly ashamed of the Murray County School system if this is where their priorities are.

unknown wrote: <quoted text> What if the teacher lives in Dalton? This doesn't make sense. Within the county system you work for; that is the state law and Murray is simply abolishing their county policy and following what the state has already in place. Let me try this again. If you teach in a MURRAY County school and it is out of your child's district (Example: you live in Chatsworth but teach at Eton) your child may attend the school where you teach. Once that child is out of your school ( in regards to my example: after 6th grade at Eton they would then have to go to Gladden)the child would have to attend their districted school. Any other system employees children will have to follow the same rules as everyone else, go in district.

again today a MC school was locked down. can we drop the this issue and lets try to keep our children safe at public school. why not use this money spent here to secure the school better????? Staff have a lot more things to worry about than which school someone attends!!!!!
