Both the Whalen 'Stand Still Parade' and Preston Trout Days opened to chilly, brisk winds on a sunny day. Windbreaker-and-sweatshirt clad crowds turned out in good numbers for both events.'Jackson', a brown-and-white dog and the de-facto proprieter of
Spoiled Rotten, a Lanesboro retail store was the celebrity guest at Whalen, attracting adoring fans wishing to pet him in honor of his 5th birthday. Preston's 'Trout Days Parade' is a small-town parade in the finest style with color guard, brass bands, horses, and the community's symbolic giant trout. |
