Constable man upgraded to fair following shooting

Why would cops shoot people over weed? These were boys were barely adults.What is the worse case scenerio if the weed got through? Would anyone have ever died from it?..NO. Strange that the only people killed or shot over weed are injured by over zealous police. Come on people its a freaking PLANT. Its only illegal because of the 1930s Dupont and cotton industries. Weed is an inert substance that harms nobody. Im sure we will get comments about if it "gets in childrens hands". But these comments are always made by people with liquour cabinets and fridges full of beer that child have to slide over to get their sandwhiches made. Alchohal kills alchohal is not locked up in any household. Hence making the north country the most alchaholic ridden counties in NYS. I wonder if the cops stopped at the bar after work..We know they do . We see them peeling out making illegal U turns every night.

From the reports in the press republican he tried to run over the officers on foot going after him so they protected themselves by having to shoot at him. But you are right weed, and drugs should be legal then we'd put the drug dealers and cartels right out of business and jails would be less crowded due to convicts in on drug charges would be out having to work real jobs

Why should people that are enforcing the law be criticized for defending themselves. Why would these innocent guys that were just transporting a little harmless plant be willing to kill someone. What would be the worst case scenario? The man stops his ATV and takes responsibility for what he has done. Actually people are killed on street corners over dope and drug money every day in this country. I bet that you are one of these people that put down law enforcement all the time but would complain if they were not there when you needed them. In my opinion the officers involved did what the had to do go home after their shift. Just because you do not agree with the laws of the land does not give you the right to pass judgment on someone is just doing their job.

trying to run over someone with an atv seems kind of comical..its not like its hard to get out of the way . Shooting unarmed people is ridiculous and criminal. No one is shot on the streets over weed. Crack, ice, meth,& pharmacuticals yes ,,but not weed. I have a few cops in my family. I dont readily put down cops. There is a big difference in peace officers and cops bent on destruction. Cops in my family are in the tristate nyc area and deal with real crime and have the sense to differentiate what is immediate danger and what isnt worth the bullet

Was I the only one that read that article before posting? After wading through the ignorant posts,(sum of ewe peeple knead two git ofline an reed a dicshunairy); B.P. didn't know they had drugs until AFTER they stopped him. Being threatened after dark, with a vehicle, whose driver won't comply, near the border...B.P. had every right to shoot him. How do they know how many people they are up against? Why they won't stop? Or what weapons they have? B.P. doesn't know. In the age of international terrorism coming even closer to home and a porous northern NY border, they were doing their job. As for them being "kids"...innocence is lost when one begins to run drugs.(Where were the parents?) B.P. would be lauded had they stopped something/someone deemed more of a threat than drug running (i.e. sleeper cell in Buffalo), but it still remains the drugs are ILLEGAL.

The shooting was about officer safety, not drugs. The drugs were found after the shooting. Tell Daniel Simonds that nobody gets shot over weed, oh, you can't because he is dead over weed. The same weed that was brought over the border and distibuted throughout our community. Look at the lives it has destoyed. His children our fatherless and his parents lost a child. You won't understand because your mind is so polluted with drugs.
