This WAS a problem at my mother-in-law's house. So I bought a trap, captured a good number of them and sent them off to the SPCA. They were all caught within her back yard so they were all fair game. Problem solved.

That is why my 3 cats are strictly indoor pets.

With vet bills and food bills, most cats in this situation are neglected. Animal hoarders always believe they are saving the animals when in reality the animals are living in a nightmare. My hat is off to those who stepped up to enact this law. In my neighborhood, we have cat owners who refuse to "fix" their animals, creating unwanted kitties and multiple cat fights nightly. Cats with injuries who never get vet care are a common sight. My own 12 year old "fixed" cat now refuses to leave the house due to all the aggressive toms on our street.
