It is my understanding that Oakwood has no additional lots for sale. There does appear to be a need for additional land for a city cemetery.

Affordable housing, aka= section 8, welfare, foodstamps, a cellphone, medicaid, some air jordans, and a crackpipe, will keep them in democratic vote majority for life

affordable housing= cops, nurses, restaurant workers, retail workers, LPNs, CNA's, food service workers.

cellphone, MDCD, air jordans, crackpipes are not endemic to affordable housing. You can find this in the "upscale" areas of the county and city.

My neighborhood has deteriorated to the point since some of the homes, previously owner owned, have become subsidized housing, that the streets are dangerous to drive. Not because of violence, but because these families seem to have no common sense. They let their young children, and I do mean young, no older than 3 or 4, run loose all over the neighborhood with no idea where these young kids are at any given time. I guess out of sight out of mind. The kids think that sitting in the middle of the street is a perfectly safe place to play, and their parents seem to have not a clue that a driver just might not see their 3 year old until it's too late. To me, these people are guilty of child neglect and endangerment, but nothing will or can be done until a child is hurt. Maybe next to a cemetery is the best place, the kids can run wild over the graves of other people's loved ones and neighbors aren't likely to accidentally run over a child who is unlucky enough to have a parent who doesn't seem to have the parenting skill of a mother dog with her pups.

This "article" is the worst excuse for "journalism" that i've ever seen. It belongs in the op-ed section. The reporter interviewed one person and published that person's manifesto as though it is fact. Did the reporter talk to City officials? Did the reporter talk to any other historians? Did the reporter talk to anyone other than the one lady? I met Antoinette Roades through the Historical Society once. She seems very good at research, but when I met her, another lady she knows well told me that at the time she was distorting facts (maybe unintentionally) to fit her agenda. Not sure if that is true in this case, but the reporter probably could have found out a lot more if even a tiny amount of effort toward journalistic integrity had been put forth.

William, you must have read yesterday's version of the story before they updated it. I thought the same thing at the time.

All cemeteries are historical, so what. But giving a prime piece of real estate to a developer, now thats a crime.

Congrats to A. Roades for speaking up. People are now engaged albeit for periphery reasons...bad reporting, etc.
Someone needs to take a stand when a public body clandestinely tries to show things thru.(Sorry to end in a prepostion, but I only minored in English.)

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Taurus

Try hard not to let money or possessions come between you and a friend today, unless it's over something that has got to be sorted out before it goes any further. For instance, if someone owes you money and has consistently failed to pay it back, this is a good day for mentioning it to them and finding out what's going on. If necessary, you may have to be quite vehement.
