"Dog Owner" - I messaged you back. Your message went to my "other" folder on FB and I didn't find it until this morning when looking for another I knew was supposed to be there. I'm hoping we can just get this whole issue resolved.

Anyone interested in seeing a leash law passed in Fluvanna County can go to the Board of Supervisors' web page and send emails to the BoS representatives. If enough people speak out, they cannot continue to ignore us.

Mix breeds from what we could tell. We've heard nothing from the owners at this point, so I have no idea. I had never seen those dogs before Tuesday morning.
I would suggest shooting the dogs the next time they are on your property. And I wouldn't feel guilty about doing it, if I were you.

The dogs were shot and killed that same day, when they came back more than 3 hours later and went after our chickens.

From reading this thread I can only deduce that these dogs got out by accident per owner.
Leash laws don't stop dogs from accidently getting loose. How would passing a leash law in Fluvanna help the farmer's with working dogs? don't working dogs need to be off leash to do their job?
Richard wrote:

Why not? Aren`t the dog owners responsible for the actions of their dogs?
The absence of a leash law relieves the dog owners of their responsibility? Ridiculous.

I would have almost bought the "it was an accident" excuse had the dogs' owner not stood in court and stated that the dogs "regularly" came back from the "hunting preserve across the road" with blood on them. We won and were awarded a hefty settlement, but have yet to see a dime.

Farm owner seems a little "unstable."

Just because they "regularly" got loose does not mean that the owner let the dogs roam freely.

Leash laws are meant to keep people from letting their dogs roam.

FSPCATECH: you are right! how can working dogs 'work' when there is a leash law?

I wouldn't pay you a dime either. You willingly shot and killed two family pets for being dogs. That is the same as me shooting your goats for shitting where they eat or bleeting (or whatever noise goats make.) You made a choice to kill two pets. I don't think you would like it if the shoe was on the other foot.

You took the law into your control and for that I don't think you deserve a dime.

You post this story obviously attacking the owner without knowing the circumstances surrounding the situation.

The article says they were unable to contact the owners. It isn't fair to the owners that they were not at their home to make a proper reply.

"Owner" why don't you just pay up and get this wacko out of your hair? her judgment couldn't be that big....cost of goats? vet bill maybe? how much could that be.

How much can a "hefty amount" be? it was in small claims right?

does this women live in a trailor park?

This is about money not what happened to her goats.

I would like to say that I know the dog owner and I know of the "farmer."

I can't keep my mouth shut any more.

Trish...why are you lying? Yes, "MAYAS" this isn't about the goats or rebuilding her heard...its about cash! cold hard cash!!!

Trish didn't win a huge amount. She won 2500$..on what planet is that a "hefy settlement?" Originially she was asking for like 5,000$! for goats! are you serious?

The judge didn't really listen to the dog owner's explaination! The dogs were in the house while your goats were being attacked.

They were hounds. They sometimes got loose and ran accross to the hunting reserve...thats how hounds act! they smell something, track it down, and if it dead they have a feast. Hounds and dogs dont run into the woods attacking heards of deer. These dogs were hunting dogs. Why are you acting like you have never owned a dog?

This is the true Trish ya'll. The owner told her that that the dogs were legally hers and that she wasn't working. Trish still took her husband to court to try and get HIS money. Trish you owe her husband the time off of work and their baby sitters expenses...the way I SEE IT...you can take a good thousand bucks off your judgement.

Then Trish threatned to sue her in laws to get to money. Now the owner is going back to court to answer questions about her fiances. Trish she already friggn' told you! She doesn't have anything! How much money are you going to spend trying to find cash that isn't there? Have you ever heard the term "you can't get blood from a stone?"

The true Trish is nothing but a bully! a 50 year old cyber bully! She has dedicated her "farm" page to bullying the owner. Going so far as to post private conversations and bleep out the nasty things she is saying to the owner. Cyber bullying!! there is a code in Virginia against cyber bullying.

here is a copy of the link: http://www.facebook.com/ #!/Harvest.Moon.Farm?fref=ts

The owner had a right to send you a intent to sue letter. You were calling her a bad mother and a poor pet owner. The owner has rescued and rehabliated several animals. She has paid for surgeries where normal people would have put their pets down. HOW DARE YOU!!! and you are lucky she didn't sue you. You are lucky that you arent worth enough to sue.

She had a right to question your bill. You were adding random charges. She had a right to defend herself on message boards. She stopped and explained it to me like this "Internet arguing is like being in the special olympics...even if you win you are still a retard." The owner has only made contact with you when it has been needed.

On your page you are rude and mean and accuse her of "not paying her bills1' Well, missy, a cute little bird...ah hem...farmer told me that your house was auctioned!!! auctioned because you foreclosed! You can't pay your freakn' bills!!!

You also go below the belt and question the morals she is teaching her son....how low will you go? If anything she is teaching her son not to be bullied by wanna be farmers.

I run one of the largest farms in the county. I know of alteast 8 other farms who will never have anything to do with you. You are what we call a liability. We don't need people who think that they are farmers because they own a few goats and some chickens turning around and suing us for everything and anything.

The owner and her husband have over 20 years in farming experience. They both worked with animal/on farms while they went to 4 year univertsities. They have never shot a dog!!! and they have seen stray dogs and these dogs have run after thier livestock. You shoot a gun in the air...in the ground...not at a defensless creature. You have a gun!! they are unarmed. How unfair. You are trying to make the dog owner look like a beast! when the truth is not only are you a greedy little pig bully but also a vicious and mean human being.

WE STAND WITH THE OWNERS!!!!

I would also like to add. That it is very low to insult someones ability to parent...especially when the child is an infant.

The same little bird/local farmer told me that all of your children are adults. Your son is a free loader using community college as an exuse..when most people work full time, go to school, and keep an abode on their own.
Annnnddddd both of your grandkids are illegitimate..way to teach your adult daughters to keep their legs closed or take birth control! ITS FREE FOR CRYN' OUT LOUD!!!!
