Missing hiker found on Montana mountain

PLAINS, Mont. - A hiker missing on Baldy Mountain near here for two days was found Thursday afternoon, alive and well.

My dad was an original tower ranger there, and I've hiked it. It's an easy hike, but if you decide to try and shortcut it, you can get lost. It can be deciptive.

I've been to the top of Baldy 5 times. A few locals call it a volcano and that of coarse is nonsence. It's a big slab of cambrian or pre-cambrian belt rock. The trail from the Lynch Creek side is easier to hike than the trail from the Hot Springs side.
