Well I guess the cop charged in the dom. battery case will have to punish himself,Because He was recently promoted to Chief of the Belle Police Dept. After the former Chief john retired. So now belle's Police force is made up of 1 bully, another who is O.K he dont seem to harass anyone. Then we have probably the best 1 out of them all,by best i mean very professional still leaniant, curtious unlike the few past officers we've been given.

the Kanawha County Police Department and every other police department think just because they are cops they can do what they want its not the 1st time a police officer has been accused of battery and i can tell you i have seen it with my own two eyes. Thats why most cops are hated bacause they abuse their authority!!!!

If you have a problem with the police dept if it is local you call the county and if it is county call the state police and if it is the state police you can call the FBI and if none of the above works then call your local TV NEWS station and tell them what you can prove. Remember it is what you can prove and not just what you know. If you can get it on the NEWS then they will get a black eye and then the public as a whole will look down on them. They are not above the LAW!! The only one in power that seems to do as they want to is the commander and chief of this country RE: Scooter Libby |

If you feel you were abuse by an officer, you have to be able to prove it, can you prove it Stout? If you can call the WV State Police. |

Doesn't matter if you prove it or not, the state police more than likely will cover for each other. I recently had to call a WV state trooper because my husband was threatening me and my son, I told him to leave. In the process, he was loading up everything he could get in his truck and a pull trailer. This included household items and he even was even going to take the dish washer if he had room. The state trooper arrived and told him he could take ANYTHING he could get on the truck. I asked about the furniture, appliances, etc., and was told by the state trooper to fight it out in court that he could take everything he wanted. He even took the box of nails that I had purchased to hang pictures. Another state trooper told me the next day that no, he couldn't take everything. It all depends on the police and what they want to do and who they want to believe. As for abuse of the system, I was pulled over and was offered a way to get out of the ticket. One state trooper stopped when he saw us and stopped what was going on. He told me to never stop for this state trooper and if he did try to pull me over to only pull over where it was safe with other people. He also told me he would deny telling me that. It is not what you can prove, it is based on who you know.

Possible solutions, long & short term: 1. You ATTEND the PUBLIC TOWN HALL meetings and voice concerns to council members 2. Draft a Petition 3. Contact the County Prosecutors Office. 4. VOTE |

After all that crap you just talked you should brush your teeth. |

I am sorry Carissa, about your experiences with Police. However, One experience does not a conspiracy make. People NEVER remember the positive things that go on in life, only the negative. How many times have you noted ALL of the FREEDOMS you have as an American, that is insured by LAW ABIDING CITIZENS, The Legal Sysytem,( including you if you VOTE?) Police Presence, behind the scenes patrol and undercover Policing Activities, and Road Patrols that protect you from dopeheads, drunks, seniles, underage drivers etc....You see, not all Police are bad, but when one is, they become the posterchild for all....just like State employees, exconvicts, and carsalesmen. THE PROFESSION Ironically becomes the only noted aspect regarding the individual, like "Nothing else about them counts." Ignorance at it's worst.....You just helped to spread that ignorance around a little more, instead of placing it into perspective.....EVERYONE HAS THE RIGHT TO DUE PROCESS>>>>>Thi s is AMERICA

Did you vote for the current administration? Do you know the percentage of residents that actually voted in the last election? |

I want to know why you can live in the town of Belle and live continulously without registering your vehicle in the state? These people don't pay taxes, and they don't have to do what the rest of us do why is that???

Well actually just call his wife/mother or whoever and tell them if an officer makes some type of advance on you. If there are enough calls close to home - they'll stop !!! |

"placing a wrong in perspective" How about fighting fire with fire - if you are hurt - fight back even if it's below the belt. Everybody puts pants on one LEG at a time... |
|
This is a great example of progress (in this case, truth being brought to the attention of others)coming to a screeching hault.WV has often stooped to Brenda's way of thinking which is we are often poorly perceived and poorly portrayed in the media. "Holler Mentality" from generation to generation is passed down as surely as red hair. Hollerism and clan behaviors cloud up the rational thought processes. Fighting Fire with Fire may be a means to an end, but the decision to risk the additional land, to weigh the sacrifice, must be made KNOWING the additional land iin the end is again, just as burned, and may result in an even bigger loss.
If WV is EVER going to move ahead, we all have to accept the fact that "Sometimes you have to lose the leg to save the body." Compromise is the ONLY means to resolution...No matter how long the stand-off....Two wrongs will NEVER make a RIGHT...Sometimes it is merely a justification to lash out at whomever is available at the time. Aferall, it's easier........ |

So you say you have to "lose the leg to save the body" That mentality is what Bush is doing in Iraq - killing innocents and hundreds of our men getting killed TO WIN A WAR??(cuttig off many legs to save the United States)? You appeared to think I am an inbred when in reality I've worked most of my life in an office job and now take care of my elderly 90 year old mother who is suffering from dementia. I indeed did "threaten an officer" who stopped me one night and made a pass at me - that I would call his wife about that incident and about other women he was seeing on the side.(He pulled me over thinking I was alone but I wasn't )- HE DID NOT SHOW up in court, by the way. And as my father was Irish and had red hair as does my son, I felt offended by the RED HAIR comment. I am proud to be from a hollow and to be born a coal miners' daughter. My father only had a third grade education, but he never left the house without stopping to aid someone in need, when he got hurt at work, not one person helped him with a claim - he was just let go and had to work as a janitor to feed and clothe us all. He also was very talented, he built our bridge, bathroom, an extra room on our house with that third grade education. He cut bark from trees to make tea for menstral cramps and it worked!!!!! He dug ditches and worked in our garden til his fingers bled as he would not "bum". If that is red hair and hollerisim then IT IS TO BE ADMIRED not made fun of... |

Dear God...Do you think YOUR FAMILY are the ONLY ONES THAT STRUGGLED??? In Other words, YOU ARE NOT ALONE...
The fact still remains, that YOUR experience with THIS OFFICER is NOT INDICATIVE of EVERY OFFICER OUT THERE....it may make you "feel" better to "call his wife or mother" but how does that eliminate the problem? How does that stop his "availability" to harm someone else? If he is scum, stopping him is not the job of his WIFE or his MOTHER, THEY SHOULD NOT BE PUNISHED FOR HIS ACTIONS, HE SHOULD. Once again, you can't justify lashing out at this Officer's family, victimizing them, because of what YOU say he did to you. It is the JOB and the RESPONSIBILITY OF THE COMMUNITY THAT PAYS HIS SALARY....it is called "ACCOUNTABILITY" WE ALL have The RIGHT TO DUE PROCESS" and we are all accountable for our actions. You do not have the Right to appoint yourself JUDGE and JURY. It certainly cannot be justified by the fact that you work hard. |

When I was 18 yrs old and started working - there was no such thing as "sexual harrassment" in the workplace. Perhaps my views are consistent with the fact that I had to protect myself from predators with threats to "go public". I certainly know that anytime there is a crime. Two families suffer - the predator and the victim. Also when my incident occurred with the officer - IT WAS UNHEARD OF TO GO AGAINST THEM for inappropriate behavior for anyone that did were constantly stopped when driving and false charges placed against them -(reckless, etc. etc. etc.) But if you knew something on them that you could prove (such as past adultry)- that would stop them in their tracks. As so you judge me - that I am making my opinions based on WORKING HARD and past problems. Well we make decisions based on what we've learned (hopefully) Oh yes - AND NOT ONCE did I go to anyone's family - the threat did it - just like a member of my family did a few little things to me when I was VERY young and I threatened to tell my Daddy- THAT DID IT !!! IT STOPPED !!!. It at least does not hurt to let someone know you have recourses other than "to let them harm you and get away with it.. |
Not every officer is like that BUT I know of several who are. When I was 16 I was given a way to get my license without taking the driving test. I could not parellel park and the officer did it for me - and then called me a week later to get his "payment" for helping me out. I was stopped several times and given options for getting out of tickets (and it involved not only him but 3 others in the office including the sargent). I was scared and I gave him - I was underage but they were in a position of authority and they more or less bullied me into doing what they wanted. That was 25 years ago and some of these same men have been promoted so far up the ladder. No, to this day I will not report them because it is embarrassing that they did this to me. No, going to town hall meetings etc. will not work because these were state troopers. I know how people feel when they are put in these positions. I gave in due to pressure and fear. I regret it to this day but I still won't tell on them. They know who they are and one day it will come back to haunt them. Besides, I was not the only one around that had to endure this - many other young teenage girls went through the same thing. Sad that these men who did this to underage girls are the same ones who arrest others for doing the same thing. |

I understand how you feel. When I was 14 yrs old and got raped, the state police who "interrogated me" raped me again verbally - they'd say nasty things, want me to go into gross detail, punch each other and laugh. It was demeaning - I was only 15 by that time, but I did GET UP - tell them the "meeting" was over and they could see my father if they wanted me in their office again!!!!!!. See threats of public exposure were all I could do. But like you I didn't TELL ANYBODY officially for I knew it would be my word against two officers if it went to court. But I KNEW and THEY KNEW if I told my father - he'd believe me!!!. When I got older - I kinda followed the career of the lead trooper and though he retired and since died - HIS SON/grandcildren are also in that field. It probably will be MONKEY SEE - MONKEY do huh? |
