, Bluefield, WV

For all of you that dont understand why the city of bluefield is dieing it's taxes such as this.

its sad that the people of bluefield are once again going to have to pay more while the buildings are falling thru and the town is dead. Raising food tax will not benefit this town, like the parking down town didnt benefit the town, all that was done was make blfd a ghost town

Bluefield is my home and I like it here. Today I am a little upset that someone would steal from my front yard a leaf blower and weed trimmer. I had gone to the back yard to finish mowing and when I returned to get my trimmer, someone had taken it........Oh well, a thief has to live too I guess....This thief if caught will be prosecuted.

I heard something on the news this morning I don't
quite understand. They said the mayor doesn't want
any new video gambling parlors in town. She said
she wanted to save room for new business.Has she
drove around and looked at all the empty buildings lately?

the only thing I can think of with the video parlors is the so called church crowd does not want them here....nor any other progress.... they like to live in the past and the dark ages....I would far rather have a video lottery unit than the so called wade center- and that type of thing!!!!

Now onto Bluefield itself.
I am sadden by the way my hometown has fallen down...literally... when i came home to a Beaver game.. i went around downtown... the Matz was gone...the brownstone was gone..whats next the old Granada?
Bland Street looked like a gangland. the old exxon across from what used to be Burkhart and Carrolls look like a junk yard with all the other buildings empty or 1/2 taken care off.
Kids pushing babies and hanging out.
The big cities are somewhat as bad but small towns look worse.
Somebody in Bluefield has money or you wouldn't be putting up a new bank on Cumberland road...things that make ya go hmmmm.
But yet Bluefield State cannot seem to get money to decently house students closer to the college.
No wonder everything has gone down.... But Bluefield BE ENCOURAGED... YOU WILL COME BACK HANG IN THERE... GOD BLESS YOU
AND CONSIDER BIDDING HARDER TO GET THE STATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS HERE.... ITS ASHAME THAT WE HAVE SUCH GREAT TEAMS DOWN HERE AND ALL THE MONEY GOES UPSTATE.

all i can say for you bluefield fans is tajh sho-johnson!!!! but im sure you will try to get him too!!! freddie is great at pulling guys from princeton and graham. isnt that where he got will cole? and what about the parents that let their children trade schools??? The city is run by the Shots and other rich old f***S who shoe be dead by now. This town does what ever they want. Also there is idiots around here who vote for the same people every time. We need a big change in this dump.

If the football team was the town Blufield would be OK. Since the town is not the football team Bluefield is nothing. I know I have to work there.
