This email is from a retired gentleman whose wife is a teacher in the
Riverside, CA area, and has been for many, many years. The attached is
first hand knowledge...

"As you all listen to the news about the student protests over illegal
immigration there are some things that you should be aware of. As most of
you know my wife is in charge of the English-as-a-second-language department
at large southern California high school, which is designated a Title 1
school, meaning that its students average lower socio-economic and income
levels. Most of th e schools you are hearing about, South Gate High, Bell
Gardens, Huntington Park, etc. where these students are protesting, are also
Title 1 schools.

My wife tells me that 100% of the students in her school and other Title 1
schools are on the free breakfast, free lunch program. When I say free
breakfast I'm not talking a glass of milk and roll....but a full breakfast
and cereal bar with fruits and juices that would make a Marriott proud. The
waste of this food is monumental, with tra ys a nd trays of it being dumped in
the trash uneaten.

She estimates that well over 50% of these students are obese or at least
moderately overweight. About 75% or more DO have cell phones.

The school also provides day care centers for the unwed teenage pregnant
girls (some as young as 13) so they can attend class without the
inconvenience of having to arrange for baby-sitters or having family watch
their kids.

She was ordered to spend $700,000 on her department or risk losing funding
for the upcoming year even though there was little need for anything; her
budget was already substantial. She ended up buying new computers for their
computer learning center; half of which, one month later, have been carved
with graffiti by the appreciative students who
obviously feel humbled and grateful to have a free education in America.

She has had to intervene several times for young and substitute teachers
whose classes consist of many illegal immigrant students here in the country
less then 3 months who raised so much hell with the female teachers, calling
them "Putas" (whores) and throwing things that the teachers were in tears.

Free medical, free education, free food, day care etc., etc., etc. Is it
any wonder they feel entitled to not only be in this country but to demand
rights, privileges and entitlements?

To my bleeding-heart friends who want to point out how much these illegal
immigrants contribute to our society because they LIKE their gardener and
housekeeper and they like to pay less for tomatoes:spend some time in the
real world of illegal immigration and see the TRUE costs. Higher insurance,
Medical facilities closing, higher medical costs,
more crime, lower standards of education in our schools, overcrowding, new
diseases etc., etc., etc. For me, I'll pay more for tomatoes.

We need to wake up. The guest worker program will be a disaster because we
won't have the guts to enforce it. Does anyone in their right mind really
think they will leave and return voluntarily?

There are many hardworking Hispanic/American citizens that contribute to our
country and many that I consider my true friends. We should encourage and
accept those Hispanics who have done it the right and legal way.

It does, however, have everything to do with culture: A third-world culture
that does not value education, that accepts children getting pregnant and
dropping out of school by 15 and that refuses to assimilate and an American
culture that has become so weak and politically correct that we don't have
the will to do anything about it."& lt; BR>
If this makes your blood boil, as it did mine, forward this to everyone you
know. Or don't complain when your life is no longer what it used to be
because you didn't care enough to do anything to preserve it.

you're full of shit. more crime, look at what those kids did at Columbine High (they were white), what Timothy McVeigh did in Oklahoma (he was also white), take a look at all those people with Aids (there are millions of white Americans with the disease) so don't say that they are introducing new diseases, overcrowding in school has nothing to do with illegal immigrants and everything to do with the federal government willing to spend millions of dollars on stupid things rather than spending the money to improve public education (take for example the fact that the government gives money to organizations that think American women are being discriminated against because of their sex, that's ridiculous), I could go on and on... but I won't, just admit that you and your wife are bigots.
Not every illegal immigrant is Hispanic, there are many that come from Asia, Europe, Canada, etc...
and also there are many illegal immigrants working in this country and they do pay taxes and can't file at the end of the year.

This urban myth is going around in cyberspace. It's propaganda. There may be truths to it, but it's not authentic, nor is it the whole truth. It's a shame people pass this along as the truth without validating for themselves.

The greatest percentage of illegal immigrants ARE Hispanic. They are costing the LEGAL American taxpayers a bundle. From free meals to free healthcare, these self entitled criminals are draining our welfare system, as we ignore our seniors and veterans. Not only that, there is a long line of people who applied LEGALLY. They are the ones who should get top priority at citizenship. If Mexicans were so great, then MEXICO would also be wonderful, but it is not. Now they are coming here, and turning our country into a slum.

Well, the anti-illegal bias is interesting. Without making a comment on the immigration issue specifically, my teaching experience included being badgered and in tears with male adolecent students who indulged in vulgarities directed at me. All the boys involved were full US citizen, non-hispanic. So please watch your bias. That "harrasment by illegals" comment is inflamatory toward the race of the students, when in reality, and my teaching experience, abuse of teachers by students is certainly not racial-specific,or immigrant-specific related issues. It may be culture related (U.S. Culture polution), also known as the violent teenage culture that comes from "Saw", "MTV", "Jackass I,II", CKY, influence.

Please dont blame the immigrants for our filth, disrespect, and homegrown violence, etc. If they immitate "us" then they HAVE assimilated with our "values" haven't they? More is the pity.

obviously someone has an agenda here, there isn't anything they say that is positive about Hispanic folks, reguardless of where they come from. I would suggest it is a selfish prospective that would be aimed at near anyone who would take advantage of poverty programs that "cost" the tax payer money they would rather have spent on themselves.

Do some research, lady. I have it from the horse's mouth, the principal of the very Los Angeles elementary school my kid would be attending if we weren't having to flee Southern California to get away from all these folks who use the public school system as little more than daycare... Public schools are paid for by property taxes. One or two kids from a house that pays 10K+ a year in taxes works out to be self supporting. Our neighborhood is full of a one bedroom apartments housing four and five school-aged children each. Ergo, their parents are not paying anywhere near enough to justify sending that many kids to public school. As renters in a small apartment they simply aren't contributing as much to the system as they're taking out. And a system under that kind of stress will eventually collapse. It's not anti-Latino racism (as many of the kids I'm talking about are Korean and Armenian), it is JUST A FACT. The American middle class can't afford the price of "cheap labor" for the corporate sector. PERIOD.

Isn't that the truth! My neighbor is having work done on their house by some Mexican guys. Apparently, they decided to use MY electricity without asking, and they popped a breaker. I asked them not to use my electricity, and I unplugged their power cord. No surprise here...guess what they did? Yep, they plugged their cord back in and kept working!!! They must come from a culture that says do whatever in the hell you want. If that is truly the new law, then I want in on that too! We all have wants.

I am a Christian, and I don't condone criminal behavior. Tolerance is a poison. Thank them? Are you kidding? I don't care how much they have "contributed" to social security, they cost us much more than they will ever contribute. The more people in our country, the more oil we need to purchase (from Mexico nonetheless...how clever of them), wear and tear on our roads and public places, education, free meals, special teachers/books/public documents, values of neighborhoods go down as they cram multiple families in one house, even the garage, and have cars lined up in the streets, and flying their Mexican flags. The cost of healthcare is through the roof, and they use the emergency room like it is a local clinic. They can't pay, so who do you think picks up that tab? I am guessing that you yourself are not a Christian if the illegal drug and human smuggling don't bother you. What about all of the gangs infiltrating our country? Women are raped, children are killed for being too loud and anyone who cannot make the trip is left for dead in the desert. Illegals are held hostage for ransom money, and it is not uncommon for smugglers to drive inappropriately or to use their guns in congested areas. Death an destruction...is that what God wants? Court costs and law enforcement costs are on the rise, and we cater to these people better than we do to our own LEGAL citizens. I agree, they have no right to come over and just use your electricity. You are paying for it. The minimum they should have done was ask and secondly offer to pay for what is being used.

A Thought. I remember going to bed at night and the doors to our house was never locked. I remember my dad leaving the keys to his car in the ignition and not worrying about it being stolen. It's been a long time since I remember that or where my dad did it.
