If you had a single bone of responsibility you too would have.... bitched. Besides, isn't it a state law to wear your safety belt and as for smoking in a government vehicle, isn't it a state policy, but what would you know? I did not know his name, can't say if the other poster was right. I have to ask, what else isn't important to him? Sorry, I love animals. Hey, before I go, I have a thought for you. At least I am doing something positive. What is it called that you do? Minding my own damn business and williams was not hurting anyone but you seem to take an exception to him smoking and not using a seatbelt. Again if it bothers you so much call his superiors or shut up.

Sounds like a local yocal who thinks rules do not apply to 'em. Not hurtin' anyone you say? Ever ride in a vehicle with a smoker? Ever seen anyone thrown out of their seat and lose complete control of a vehicle instead of being held in place by the seatbelt during an accident? Is he paying the insurance I wonder? I am sure his boss took exception and I am sure they already know. Havent you heard, everyone in the know reads topixs. You are way too easy.

I hate to be the one to break the news to you, but you have the mind of the average local who was never in charge of anything. Please get back with me when you somehow gain a little responsibility and integrity.

I am sure they will correct the oversight if is true or let us know what they are doing is by all means right. They do work for the people, right?

This entire town has several clicks. If you are not in it- you are out! Don't even try to make a friend.#1. horse traders work together to aquire/buy/steal a horse then - it's "oh well". case closed. Don't try to find your horse later- it's more than likely dead for the meat. I did my research after driving over 120 miles with 5 witness'."Buy cheap & kill for the meat". Later one will come to you telling you what you ned to buy in order to maintain your horse, such as a horse wheel/to exersize your horse! oh it's a great buy & works wonderful, just $500.00. I'll have it deliverd. then you get it...no motor, no shaft or bearings & I am out $500.00 AND they stole my horse! Court is SOON! Do NOT trust anyone here!Espcially with horses! PS. These 2 mn hang out at the auction every week. They buy only the cheap ones -& tell you that your horse is worthless!

Why do a lot of females in MC use their maiden name in their names. Do they have that much pride in a name? I am making it a point not to vote for anyone who uses their maiden name and does not chose to stand by the name alone she accepted when she gave her hand in marriage. Names should mean so little in a county which is last in every catagory which means anything. What have the names done for us?

The maiden name is used so that those who knew her before she married, will recognize her. I don't see a problem with it. Some women keep their maiden name and never take their husband's name. Actually, it is only in the South that women are "expected" to take their husband's names anymore. In the north, you will find many women who are married but still go by their maiden names.
I use both names on my drivers' license and on my professional license. I've been married for 24 years, so I just use my married name on a daily basis. However, if I returned to where I grew up, I may use both names.
I really hope that is not the only criteria you use by which to cast your vote. Hopefully you will cast your vote based on qualifications, or at least on your impression of who would be the best in the position.

If the maiden name is used for someone to recognize her after she marries, that is a crying shame that she is not recognized by looks alone. I truly believe it is strictly out of pride of a name, "extra points", and respect she thinks she is earned by the name alone that a women keeps her name. We have a major, major problem with names in this small, dying community. People make fun of those who pride their names and think they are somewhat royalty in the county. "Look at me everyone, I may of married bubba but I am a still a Rockefeller". I don't want to lose the name because I married poor bubba smith. If my wife would of kept her maiden name, I would take it as an insult. Sorry, I am not small minded, just how I feel. Names here are no different than the Hatfield's and McCoy's. When you had a small area which only a few names were prominent.

Why do our folks run for positions, spend so much of their own money, take in contributions from others if they make so little and the place is always on the hot seat? I always wondered that. Could someone enlighten me? Is it out of strict community service? Is it pride in being in a position of authority to help the people? Some of our bigger chain stores have high level jobs which pay more and you dont have to campaign for them, live here all your life, or have a name. The funny thing is you just have the credentials.

Is that the one our guys said they were proud to be close to such great accomplishments? Is that all we got? Hope some of our folks can pass the test and get some of those jobs to help our community. If they do right, work hard and set the right examples maybe we can get more people in the door. I just hope if they do get their foot in the door, they will work really hard, respect the employers, be appreciative and do well. Maybe some of the folks in pulaski which have jobs here get jobs there and we can get some of our folks back to work locally. I truly really wish we had a better work ethics here.

In one particular instance, the candidate has worked in that field for several years. Now that the "office" is being vacated, running for that office, and hopefully being elected is sort of a promotion. They enjoy their current position, have learned a lot, and feel prepared and have a desire to serve in the elected office. My question is why someone would "all of the sudden" want to run for a public office when they have been in the private sector as a business owner all this time.

i grew up in lewisburg from the mid 80s through the 90s. as one of a few latinos (or minority of any kind at that time) and one of the few catholics i have to agree that. "This town does need , I will say...someplace for youth wh odo NOT do drug to 'hang out', but unfortunately those who do usually ruin it for those that don't." and yes, the southern baptist and church street church of christ run that town. i have my stories. it is funny now that i have lived so many different places since then and when people start talking about how catholics are so suppressed, i laugh and then tell them stories of going to the summer camp withe the church of christ and how girls and guys did not swim together and if they did they were completely dressed (try swimming in jeans). i don't judge, some of my best friends went there...it is just that catholics are way more laid back. i am glad i am out of lewisburg (my one dream growing up was to get out of there) and i refuse to set foot in there again.

I was there when he was appointed and saw the changes firsthand....it was all about who you were and if you had ever disagreed with him in any manner you paid for it dearly. Bucheit was a joke....unless you needed some good pain prescriptions and didnt have time for something like an actual doctors exam, then he was your man. Bowden's in jail? Excellent..... hadn't heard that one though. i have a little insight to the school system too and he is not the most corrupt...in saying that i have ALWAYS KNOWN THE SCHOOL SYSTEM WAS CORRUPT back when JDP was only the principal of westhills. which is to say that when i was offered a job there i turned it down...not wanting to relocate there...as i know everyone's business (all the juicy stories that don't make it to the tribune) and did not want to work with them. JDP is a decent guy very loyal to friends...but he does hold grudges if you burn him. so i am assuming you must have rubbed him the wrong way.

dump wrote: lewisburg is a dump, and all our mayor and her goons do is dump more trash on top. thanks for running my home in the ground What do you expect from obama lovers. Ask them. Anyone who can look you in the eye and say they support a true liar, sneaky, socialist believing American dumping individual, I would stay a mile away from them. If they can support what he has done, said, or plans to do that is frightening. If I were the pres I would of said, no, if it is going to be a tax, I told America I would not support another tax, let it go in that case. But whatever it takes. No morals. The first Bush's read my lips...is a far fetched difference than what happened here. This place is a dump. I went to get gas, the guy behind me lite up a smoke and I made him put it out. The guy next to me who pulled in without a safety belt had his passenger pump the gas because he was too busy rolling a joint. What a dump and today I saw an example of the average lewisburg citizen.
