All you really have to worry about is the banjo music in Lewisburg. Come on guys and gals get a grip on reality.

How can we have a meaningful discussion of the issue, are issues in a three minutes time period. It just goes to show me if the Lewisburg Council adopts a three-minute time limit on free speech. It is a bunch of old men who have all ready got their minds make up, and don't really want to hear the issues, are discuss and correct the problems of our City. If they have that little regard and time span to devote to the issues that come before them. Then why did they run for the job in the first place?

Free Speech

Now I see where the 3-minute time period came from. It did not take 3 minutes for a council member too say,” he knew he was going to hell.” I guess that says it all in less than 3 minutes. But I think they should rethink the issue. Because I think it is going to take more than 3 minutes to save him.

I don't know, but I would think, it would be a good symbolic jester for them to indicate to the taxpayers, they were serious about saving our tax dollars by cutting their own salary and pay. Before they ask us, the taxpayer for extra taxes. Especially the economy in the shape it is and the direction the economy is heading. A cut in their pay would be and excellent start. Some only look at other surrounding county expenditures and never look at what the other surrounding counties are doing to save money. In other words you do not have to have as much income, if your expenses are less. Cut the out go rather than increase to inflow. I really think each and every County Comm. Should be required to visit the Budget Directors Office and get to know the Budget Director as well as the Budget !!!!!!!!!! That would be the first place I would start. A good long heart to heart talk with her. Then each Department head!!!!!!!!!! Come think about this it would work really well with the city too.

Another Deal

Reported in the Daily Hearld
MT. PLEASANT Uniformed city workers using a city pickup trimmed tree limbs at the newly purchased home of City Manager.
Maybe this is the guy too contact if we see waste and fraud here. Pictures are nice too.
The president of the Tennessee Center for Policy Research,a free market think tank and watchdog group, criticized Goode’s judgment.
“If this is true, this is obviously a violation of the public trust,” he said.“He should have to repay the taxpayers every single dime for the time and expense of these city employees cutting his trees.”
just my thoughts
Oh! they tell me the city of Lewisburg owns the house, our city manager lives in and his yard and trees too. I thought all city managers lived in city own houses. Guess not huh !!!!!

The council has always had a three minute time limit on citizen input. This is nothing new. If you want more time, all you have to do is call city hall and ask to be placed on the agenda. Then you can talk as long as you want.

just my Opinion
Based up on Speculation The Industrial Board wants too build a speculation building. On speculation Well you want something to speculate about Speculate about the economy and the coming depression. Before you speculate on building a speculation building. Speculate on where the taxes, insurance, up keep, and interest for the load are coming from for that building. Speculate where the water and electricy buster station is coming from, because you are going to have to have one down there my bet. Why is it that a bunch of old men who are close to death want to leave their wife’s and families? And the taxpayers something for the Town to remember them by while paying for their speculation. Why don’t you speculate on how much you can save the taxpayers rather than how much you can buy or spend . Speculation !!!!!

Do People Know !!!!!!!!!! The public transportation program in Marshall County operates out of the Marshall County Senior Citizens Center in the Hardison Building Annex at 230 College Street in Lewisburg. Six vans are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with nine courteous drivers sharing the responsibilities. Those who have TennCare and need transportation for a medical appointment can schedule an appointment through their provider. Reservation requests should be made as soon as the need is known with at least a 24-hour advance notice. General public passengers must pay their fare to the driver upon boarding the van. Examples of trip destinations include medical appointments, social service agencies, shopping, personal business, recreation, and work. The fee for transportation within the city limits is $1.00 per trip. Trips outside the city limits but within the county are $2.00 per trip. Children five and under may ride free with a paying adult. Special contract rates for dedicated service are available for transportation inside and outside Marshall County. Funding is provided by the state and federal government and is administered by the South Central Development District in Columbia, Tennessee. Rural public transportation is available for everyone regardless of race, color, national origin, disability, age, sex or religion. Those who want to schedule transportation may call the Senior Citizens office and request a pick-up.

Are Start School after Labor Day Make a law and shorten the School Year.

too-much

i did that for years and i turned out fine.
shorten the school year that would be great but ummm why they already get a break every 9 weeks .if you want your child to not be out "in this weather" put them in home school. if it not an option then you've exhausted all your efforts and just go with the flow.
and one more thing "Are Start School after Labor Day"
what? that isnt really a sentence.

I as a parent like the occasional breaks which requires school to start early and end late. I dont think our new director has his act as together as we hope. The system has taken him in. I tried to talk to him once about problems here and he seemed not to want to listen. Oh well, his loss. I dont care what seminars or countries he visited, only honest non-biasis opinions will guide him right. He seemed to think he had it all figured out. I guess he proved himself wrong. I >>read by<< that person who cant keep his "our" and "are" right. As soon as I come across that word, no matter who he signs on as, I stop reading. How dumb can he be? And he wants people to take him seriously?
