1 And now he quit the union. He used the Chandler Police Department Union to get his "President" name on his resume. He knew all along he was going to quit his union job. He's not even qualified to seek out a position as a supervisor with Chandler Police Department, but he thinks he can run an entire county? Cocky and arrogant. Nice ethics Babeau ! |

1 Babeau DID have an obligation to tell the Chandler Officers of his intention to resign from his new elected position as union President. The best part is that the union rules allow Babeau to appoint a new union President if his position becomes vacant. So what does he do? He appoints his best buddy and fellow crony as the new union President, with no input whatsoever from the Officers and or union members. So far, his plan is working out pretty well for him, don't ya think? Babeau is an unethical POS and although we would LOVE for him to get elected in Pinal County to get him out of Chandler, our own ethics won't allow us to screw the citizens of Pinal County in such a manner. |

1 Hey Chandler Cop 2, here are the facts: November 2007-Babeau was specifically asked if he was running for the upcoming election for Pinal County Sheriff in 2008. He said no. December 2007-he was re-elected as President of the union. This was based on the fact he was not running for Sheriff and would be around for his 2 year commitment with the union. Weeks after the election he announces he is running for Sheriff....(how convenient) June 2008-he resigns from the union, and takes a leave of absence from the Police Department so he can run his campaign. Looks like his welcome had surpassed itself back east, and now we're dealing with the same crap. Chandler Police Department has an opening-right now-for an Assistant Chief position, making more money than the Sheriff position. Why doesn't Babeau apply for that? Because he doesn't qualify for it due to LACK OF EXPERIENCE. The City of Chandler would not allow him to apply for this position because he lacks the proper training and experience per the City rules-look it up online. But he wants people to believe he is qualified to run an entire County? Nice ethics Babeau. Your graveyard shift at Chandler Police Department will be waiting for you when you get back. |

1 I hate to sound overly critical of a professional person as I assume you are, but your grammar leaves a lot to be desired. Do you have these same problems when writing tickets? I hope not if a judge has to read them? |

1 What he actually was doing was a political maneuver because he wanted to run for yet another political office. He knew that he would not be able to run for office while actively deployed, so he lied to military supervisory staff. He knew he would not be elected president of the police union, so he lied to his fellow officers stating he was not going to run for sheriff. He asked for and was granted unpaid leave from the Chandler P.D. to dedicate full time efforts for his political greed. What happened to the “I need to leave this military deployment because I feel obligated to my duties as a Chandler police officer”???? He has also been feeding half truths and plenty of lies to a local yellow journalism rag in an effort to benefit his campaign by negative attacks. Is this deception and negative campaign tactic the norm in Massachusetts or did the Arizona heat melt Babeu’s integrity? He has foolishly been fibbing to the voters when he attacks Sheriff Vasquez alleging the deputies are not trained in CPR. He knows, or should know, that all Arizona lawmen are certified in the police academy during First Responder Training. He has been fibbing to the voters when he says he will put Mobile Digital Computer modules in the patrol vehicles, knowing very well the MDC’s are in several patrol vehicles already with more budgeted and scheduled for service. He has been fibbing when he tells the voters he will decrease response time when he knows Sheriff Vasquez has already redistricted patrol areas and convinced the Board of Supervisors to hire more deputies which has already decreased response time and improved omnipresence and proactive patrol enforcement. It was an asinine comment he made about firing deputies who had a pot belly if he became sheriff. This just proves his rookiness. You can only fire employees who break the law or violate administrative policy and procedures. Those experienced deputies are the ones who keep the young rookies, like Babeu, out of trouble. What a stupid comment by Babeu. All these gross errors and deception by Babeu are going to catch up with him come election time. People will see that he is motivated by mere personal political gain and is not dedicated to the law enforcement career field. No thanks, Babeu, my vote and many, many like me will go for a tested and true law enforcement leader, not for a deceptive politician looking to get his carpet-bagging foot in the door. The people of Pinal County need an experienced law enforcement leader like Sheriff Chris Vasquez, not a politically motivated law enforcement rookie officer from a city outside of the county. |
