I'm an Army brat. My opposition to the war is all about my support for the troops... As far as the danger of uranium-tipped shells, the soldiers who've been experimented on over the years with drugs and diseases were probably told there was no danger as well. The pretext for this war was a lie, pure and simple. It has been called bad intelligence, but it was a lie. And if history is any indicator, it's not the first, fifth or even tenth time the American people, and more specifically, American soldiers, have been led to war under false or dishonest pretense. I've got at least one friend who lost their life in Iraq that I know of. Why? Your numbers are correct and that's the scariest part – this war will haunt us through my daughter's lifetime and beyond. We've been in Iraq for seven years. WWII took less than five and it mattered. But it should never be forgotten that even that war involved some shady dealings and motivations within our rulers. It's not Bush's kids dying in Iraq, or Bush's colleagues' kids, or Bush's colleagues' colleagues' kids. It's important to remember also how negligible one soldier's life is, in terms of monetary value, to the bean-counters. The potential profit loss to corporate America makes sending America's privileged way too risky. Frankly, I find it infuriating.

Trev true that we were lied to on the WMD's for sure knowing from German, French, and Russian intel Saddam didn't have any and that Saddam was not training terrorist sad as it may seem Bush got everyone to believe in it all it truly was was about getting oil everyone knows it. As for Afganistan that place has a purpose the Taliban ruled and needed to go for the sake of mankind. As for Bush and whoever succeeds him will still my CinC until i fully retire from Fleet Reserve in 2017 so i just go with it. As for the potential profit loss to corporate America makes sending America's privileged way too risky not much loss when you see companies left and right laying off American workers so they can outsourcing American jobs to foreign countries like India, Pakistan, and the Phillipines and that pisses me off losing jobs so companies like Dell and Gateway can get some barely english speaking piece of crap fixing my computer from BFE and make more money for there execs. It';s time for the right Pres to get elected who will get everyone on the same page and start taxing the crap out of all these "American" companies taking jobs elsewhere and not only taxing them but taking away any federal aid they get in return.

James: I agree about the Taliban needing to be taken out. Too bad they weren't. And too bad we can't get Pakistan to fully cooperate so we can get the rest of the baddies.(read: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi... ) However, Afghanistan has throughout history been a war-torn and miserable land. Now we're way off topic but I would say also that I'm not really referring to the workers when I say the privileged. More like the bosses. The workers are the ones sent off to war these days.

Now that it's almost bankrupt, don't you wish that you had put everything you own into this company? shows you that you were very wise when you made this comment! and justice for all wrote: I'm with you Soleil. As a matter of fact if I could afford it, I'd invest in Noble and wind power myself.
