Toys for Tots: 40,000 toys needed for Franklin, Fulton counties...

Calling all Americans. Calling all conservatives. At this time of year let us think of others more than ever. Let us far exceed what any big government tax driven monstrosity of a useless program could ever generate in toys.

A Toys For Tots volunteer came in my business this week, and asked for toys.

I asked them how they can get these toys reday for Christmas so fast.

They told me toys collected THIS year are actually handed out NEXT year - i.e., they work a full year AHEAD before they are handed out.

Really???
If so, I think its a bit "massaged" to make this story sound like they gotta have them NOW so THIS Christmas is a happy one for everyone.........I have a hard time now believing what really IS true with this toy drive.

Oh yeah??
You try running a business nowadays and have everyone and their brother come in your doors asking for a donation or for you to be a part of some civic so-and-so organization.

If you owned such a business in today's world, you're best to ask some probing questions.

What business needs that kinda of P.R.? A house of ill repute? Or a cut shop? If I knew your business you'd never see me in your door.

Are you sure it was the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots?

I am the Commandant for the Marine Corps League in Chambersburg; I have no idea who told you that we will give out these toys next year but I assure you, they have no clue what they are talking about. Perhaps the volunteer was very poorly informed. We start immediately after Christmas collecting toys and on the 20th of December of this year we will hand out all that we collected for this year. We start again after Christmas for next year. Please contact the MCL in Chambersburg, get on the volunteer list and see for yourself; we do not collect for a year in advance. We get it done by having volunteers work hard for many hours sorting and placing toys in bags for the families in need. Again, please contact your local Marine Corps League and help us out, you will see for yourself that the toys go out this year, not next year.
