Marjorie Esman, executive director of the state chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, said she is concerned about any law that prohibits political speech and religious exercise. "This is a very problematic law," she said. Oh, really? The very issue in the prospective lawsuit here is free speech and that means the pro-gay can TEACH TOLERANCE -- in exaaaactly the same manner that these "preachers" (quotation marks very, very badly needed) can preach intolerance. The antigay have lost this particular battle. Please, go sue. You *will* establish or reestablish a precedent that allows the pro-gay to teach what *THEY* believe publicly, and *WITHOUT* your consent, cooperation or liking. Dear antigay people: Every, last, law, you, fight -- works in the reverse against you, as well. Every last one. You do not have some exclusive right(s) which are not also extended to those who *vehemently* disagree with you and will *never* be quiet about it.

Wasn't one of those very same preachers arrested for pulling his pud in a kid's playground? Ah, nothing finer than Christian values! (The question was rhetorical, he WAS arrested for wankin' it in a kids' playground. To be fair, he did NOT jizz on any little girls, but he still thought that behavior appropriate, by the way, this was after drinking BEERS in that same park. Christian values on the hoof.)

Taking exception with the ACLU probably means you don't work for them?

I recall someone stating some time ago, be careful of what you say, you're free speech may not be free speech. and look what has happened here! or is is because they are preachers? and it's a bash against those that uphold Bible scripture. Funny how gays can hold marches every year in washington dc and get married to say the least.

That's for sure. Their values constantly and eternally indict others, never themselves.

How "funny" that gays can marry -- how outlandish and jaw-dropping a premise that they should have rights *identical* to those of ALL, repeat ALL other citizens.

I think they are so conflicted about their own devils, that they take it out on others, trying to prove their moral superiority. Like Senator Larry Craig, he was one of the biggest scolds of Prez Clinton in his problems, yet Larry had far more to hide all along, didn't he?

In my town, when a permit is acquired for a street party, along with it comes the responsibility to provide security AND the authority to eject anyone who does not live within the party area for disruptive or harassing behavior.
Problem solved.

Why not have a permit for everything, in England a person needs a permit to have tv's. no use in fighting war for freedom when it's all being slowly taken away. I don't think that solves the problems.

Problem solved. I think you miss the point ... compromise. The idiots can be annoying elsewhere and at other times. There is nothing about Free Speech that allows a person to crash your party and annoy your guests. A street party permit is the equivalent of renting the neighborhood (in this case, gayborhood) street for the night.

I think you're fantastically humane and polite even when you obviously disagree vehemently with others. It's an art. You really have an art that may well be making the world a better place.
