Yea, Mike, you just had to tell this story. I wonder if the family wanted you to tell the world. After all, you saw his death notice and "accident" in an obit, and then you probably contacted the paper out in Idaho to "get the story" to tell everyone here in York. Only if the family agreed have you been professional. I suspect you never even asked for permission. My sympathy to the family and friends of this special and dynamic young man who apparently brought joy to many.

How sad.....If anything....the only consolation is that this young man died doing what he loved. I am so sorry to read that his father is the one who found him.

They have absolutely no concern for privacy, reputation, or sensitivity UNLESS its about themselves. Indeed, I suspect that the ratings on my post are by Mike and his buddies themselves. Like I said, my spmpathy to the young man's family. If my desire to make journalists responsible and force them to be accountable makes me a "quack" John, then I'll be happy to put on a duck suit and quack away..........

Um genius...obviously the family talked to the reporter...which indicates they knew there would be a story. Many families talk to reporters after tragic accidents...knowing that there is going to be a story from the said interview.

This man died living out a life style that many men only dream of, and few have the courage and fortitude to attempt. May his soul be at peace in the quiet wilderness that he deserves. I also extend my most sincere condolences to his family. Truly a loss from everything I have read.

Our family was not contacted for the writing of this article, or the similar one written in the Challis Messenger, Idaho. It was heartbreaking to read, and to see that our son and brother made the front page of the York newspaper in this way.
The last thing my brother would want would be for people to argue about this. We respectfully request that you simply keep our family in your prayers. Thank you.

This is EXACTLY what I thought, and sadly so. Once again the York newspapers have caused more pain, and are not accountable. It played out as I thought. My prayers to the Trone family. Unfortunately, however, I KNOW that Mike is smiling like the Chesire cat. Once again, this wannabe journalist has caused more pain. He could not be happier. You see he's just a "little" man who thinks that he makes himself taller by standing on the "emotional" shoulders of others.

They wrote a nice story memorializing someone who lived the life that most would never dream of living. I see nothing wrong with it.
