They ALL need to go! Most of them have been there for a long time and they don't do anything but cause trouble. It's time for a change, something the Mayor said was going to happen. LIES, LIES & more LIES!!!

what change? chaffee is becoming a ghost town, no new business. the downtown area looks like a swap meet is going on. the water is terrible. your trash pickup was cut to one day a week and your bill went up. you call this a big change.

Right now, the economy as a whole is the reason why there isn't new industry coming into town, but I am not sure anything will come to Chaffee again. It's not just Chaffee...remember back in the 70's and 80's...Oran, Chaffee, Advance...they were big towns with lots of industry and manufacturing. Consolidation near the interstates and outsourcing jobs overseas is what hurt the little towns. Unions drove many jobs out of the United States, and essentially what killed the automotive and textile industry. The water is terrible and nothing short of a big tax hike or utility fee increases is going to fix that. Unemployment is eating away at our tax base. Things aren't going to be good for a long time. I feel bad for my children because the land of opportunity is disappearing.

I dont think anyone who has lived here the majority of their life should be on the council or be mayor. A lot of the issues in this town stem from council members and the mayor interferring with everything because it impacts their people nevermind what is good for the town.

100% agreed! It's all a little family circle. They vote with each other and not whats best for the town!! I think everyone of the city council should be replaced including the Mayor! I personally have nothing against anyone of these people but none do justice for chaffee. Nothing will EVER change until you elect people that CARE about this town and want to work to change it.

I think the mayor should be the first one to go you all talk about people who have lived here a long time just do whats good for them well that is what the mayor is all about. She is very good to critize everyone else but has anyone seen where she lives. There is an ordinance against junk but look at her yard, and her son's. And to top it off the place next to her needs something done too but she doesnt say a word. She has done nothing for our city but break it so I think its time for a change. We need someone in there that really cares about chaffee and I think Donnie Kiefer would be a terrific Mayor.

I never thought about that before but Donnie Kiefer would make a wonderful Mayor! I think most people would also agree! I still think the other city council members need to go. What have they done to help this town in their term? NOTHING. It's time to bring this town to life and clean it up. I think somebody needs to bring it to Donnie's attention that we want him to run for Mayor!

i agree kiefer would be a good candidate for mayor but you must not realize he already holds a political office. he is our county commissioner...don't believe you can hold two offices at one time. do you people just talk about voting or do you actually go out and vote? if you DID go out and vote, then i would hope you would have probably already known that. gonna have to think of someone else for mayoral candidate.

I think I would vote for Donnie Kiefer. He seems like a good guy that would keep the town in mind not just his friends and family. I do vote in almost every election. I have forgotten a time or two. I can think of a couple of people I think would be good at it. I'm not sure they would like having their names blasted all over this site.

What about Billy Sullivan for Mayor? He seems to be a good guy and he's pretty involved in city functions.

Daily Horoscope for December 17

Pisces

If you want to make the best of the day you should lock yourself away and work on your own. This will make it easier to concentrate, especially if you're trying to focus on something that's fiddly or difficult. If you've got something on your mind at the moment it will be worth having a quiet word in someone's ear because they'll help you to get things into their proper perspective.
