Does this tell you that something is not right in the fair city of Centralia? When 3 people feel the need to resign from there positions over a parking spot squabble, maybe it's time to dig deeper to discover the true problem. Your city administrator felt the need to investigate the fact that the new police chief parked his personal vehicle in the "Law Enforcement Parking Only" spots in the front of the police department last Sunday. Some young man came in and got mouthy with the new chief about parking in the spot and the chief told him it was none of his business, well young man decided to get rather mouthy and nasty, so the chief escorted him out of the office, and the young man told him he was going to make a civilian complaint, the chief told him to go right ahead, and make whatever complaint he wanted to but he was not going to come in and cuss him and his staff out about something that was none of his business. A few days later the Chief got a phone call from the Administrator telling him they needed to talk about a complaint, and that he was going to be issued a parking ticket and would be written up for parking where he was not supposed to, mind you he had not actually started yet!!!! This is crap. He told them to shove it, and apparently according to KOMU news, so have the mayor and one of the alderman. I'm thinking the City Administrator should be looked at. Since when does a City Administrator have rights over a Police Chief, normally the Mayor would. I could see to some degree, but to take a complaint from a nasty mouthed punk about a silly parking spot, does not make sense to me. Ok, I've spoke my peace now. Wishing Centralia the best....

Number One: Since when does a desk riding City Admin. have any authority to issue or force to be issued a parking ticket? I think the City Admin. needs to take another look at his job description. and learn his place as a public offical, which has nothing to do with the enforcement actions of the police department. For Gods sake, I am pretty sure the police chief can park in a "law enforcement only" parking spot in front of his own police department. I think the City Council and Admin. have serious issues with law enforcement, however whom will they call when they themselves need a police officer. Long Story Short people need to keep their noses where they belong.

What I think is that said City Admin may be too big for his britches. There are reasons that term limits have been implemented all over the US. When you've been somewhere too long, sometimes you think you know what's in everyone's best interest, irregardless whether that's your place to say or not. Centralia is a wonderful place to live and raise your family, but the politics in this town stink to high heaven. That's why we're having so many problems with getting any big businesses in this town. We're going to lose a lot of people if we don't start bringing in more jobs to this town.

I grew up in Centralia and lived there until my daughter turned three and I started seeing issues with the police department and administration (more so) I found a house in another town and still live there. I love the school district and the town and although I do visit regularly when recently faced with the possiblity of moving back there it made me sick to my stomach, and I couldn't eat until the situation was resolved allowing us to stay in our nice home. There is a lot going on in Centralia that wasn't admitted to when I was in school it is still going on and it is time for change in the small town. Instead of putting someone in office that runs for himself how about putting someone in that is concerned about the community!
