the Riverwalk in Elk Rapids should have the hot spot because of the weaterfront property, the only one in Elk Rapids. Because of the bad service, management, kitchen staff and prices, it didnt live up to the beautiful establishment it should have been. It is sad it has burned and I hope someone rebuild and makes it into the great diner it should have been.

As much as I appreciate your comment, its wrong. It was an awesome restaurant. First of all, if you had a bad experience there, that is unfortunate. Eventually you will have a bad experience anywhere. second, How could you possibly know the kitchen staff is bad? perhaps you are a disgruntled employee. If that is the case then your opinion is null and void.

Compare the prices to other restaurants in the area and you will find they are perfectly reasonable.
Service is fine and tends to be much better on the deck.
The owners and management are great people. End of story.

No, I agree with Sandie. The food was bad. It was not homemade -- tasted like it came from cans and jars. Half the time they ran out of menu items. Service was poor, also. Nice people, just not well-trained. I am hopeful that a really good restaurant goes in. I hope they tear the deck out, too, and put something better outside. Look at Pearl's -- it's not that difficult to have high quality food, good staff, and decent prices.

Bubba...are you aware you just slandered the owners of that establishment? You can and should be prosecuted if anyone ever finds out how you are...every restaurant, bar, hotel has good days and bad days, good employees and bad ones. I should know, I have run several food and beverage establishments in my lifetime...I have lived in Elk Rapids for thirty five years and have eaten at the Riverwalk Grill countless times. I have seldom had a bad food experience there...yes, the summer help on the deck tend to not always be on time with things...good summer help is hard to find...I have always been treated with respect and if there was a problem with food or service, it was corrected and I was compensated. No reason to bash them. Sure, have a problem, and don't say anything, go home and complain about it on line...it's the new american way...however, don't defame people. If you aren't aware, there are two other fires on that same one mile stretch of road that were deemed ARSON...Elk Rapids police don't seem to have a clue as to who lit those matches. IF they can't find clues, that means that the person/persons responsible are professionals...perhaps they should be looking among themselves.

I have eaten there and I did return the food and complained to the owner about it, wich he was very unpleasent in complaining about the food, I was not going to pay for crap I was served they did take a portion of the price off but I still payed for a crap meal and i was with a chef of another resturant so back off.

The food was not good. The staff was okay. It had been that way since it was the Elk River Inn many, many years ago. However, a fire is dangerous business. Thank God no one was hurt. I hope the location can be revitalized.....

The food and service were awful. It became just another restaurant when the owners of the Elk River Inn sold it. There was a nice family feel before it became the Riverwalk. Looks like more gaudy condos are on the way. Between the insurance money and what they'll get from real estate developers, the owners should make a bundle.

You are right. Very profitable business for these owners. I think you will find these owners all have relatives in the construction business to. Weenie Roast and Smoores Galore.

What professionals, those idiots can't shut their mouths, Court house is no different. Why do you think the FBI has to step in and would not surprise me to here they stepped in on this case to. You see the problem is they are all related or close friends so real professionalism comes into question since many just never qualified for the position.

If the owners didn't do this.( and I'm not saying they did ) then Elk Rapids has a serial arsonist on their hands. Vacant houses, Swift Audio, Riverwalk. All within sight of each other. Is Al Avery still in jail for blowing up the Village Market has station?? Lots of intentional fires for a very small town. Where is the investigation??
