Better to lower the drinking age back to 18 and abandon neo-Prohibition for adults.

WOW! Let's face it folks, the drinking age is 21, and to drink before it is illegal, plain and simple. And providing alcohol to minors in your home is illegal! That's the law! So why don't you just explain to your spoiled little teenage brats, that there are rules/regulations and laws in life that they have to follow. We have a generation of children who think the world owes them, and that they are all above the law. They speed, drive drunk, talk/text on the phones while driving, and the list goes on and on.
Time to do the job you signed on for when you brought these children into the world, and that was to raise them with respect..... for themselves, others and the law. Stop trying to be their friend and be their parent!

"We have a generation of children who think the world owes them, and that they are all above the law. "

They think that because everyone in this country is a bunch of babies and we treat them that way, it's a two way street. Look at the drinking age around the world, nobody comes close.

The drinking age is ridiculous anyway. There's a reason we have the most problems in this country and we have the highest limit in the world. It's handled at a younger age so it's not so taboo. My son is about to turn 20 and is about to start his junior year in college. I think it's pretty sad that he can't legally have a beer over here until he's about done with college.

Do you think there would be as many wild house parties that get out of control with no supervision if the age was 18? Not at all.

Well listen too all the people that think they know kids...I BET YOU DON'T HAVE ANY. Kids will drink when they are not supposed to just like we all did. As for DAVE MEJIAS he allows drinking in the woods right around the corner from him so he needs to shut up and take care of things in his own BACKYARD, oh I forgot he rides on the coat tails of other politians who do all the work and he just rides around in his new Cadillac...Mr. Mejias your a joke

Some of you ought to be around when The E.M.S. services bring a 9 year old, near death, to the E.R. and meet the parent (s) @ the door.Try being near a Parent who was just told that their 16 year old may never recover. In my 25 years in E.M.S. I've seen too much of it, yes 2 is too many.

My 18 y/o buys beer, goes to bars, and drinks at his "friends" house. Why? Because the police look the other way. I have called and given addresses of where beer is being bought (usually gas stations or 7-11's), bars that rarely check ID, and "friends" homes whose parents allow them to drink. NOTHING has ever been done. I have even called the precinct and mother's against drunk driving and to my surprise found that the police cannot just enter a house--they have to witness the drinking first! We need a underage drinking hotline-where parents/neighbors could call in and give locations, then maybe after getting the same address over and over the police will be able to or want to do something about it. This social host law does not effectively work- we need to make it work!

Have you heard about the FOURTH AMENDMENT, of course the police cant go into your house, THEY NEED A WARRANT. One person reporting drinking is not probable cause to get a warrant. Even if cops witness underage drinking inside a house they still need to get a warrant, underage drining is not exigent circumsatnces and they cant barge into a house without a warrant.

Plus the drinking age is a joke, pushed by a bunch of neo-prohibitionist extremeists called MADD. If you can vote and serve in the military you should be able to drink

I am liberal like everyone else, and do what I want , and not let others judge my actions, but I waited til I was 21 to drink because it was a LAW!!! Kids today at 17,18,19 brag about there drinking parties and what they do... They need to realize when they have liver cancer or die of alcohol poisioning... Gee... We shouldnt have been drinking. Our bodies are still growing and cant handle the alcohol. I personally blame the parents for saying not my child... my child wouldnt do that... blame someone else for my childs mistake cause I wasnt raising them!

My daughters ALL 3 are well educated and hard working for 24,22 & 21. I did'nt blame any of their wrong doings on someone else & I always knew who and where my children stayed with at all times. They did things and maybe somethings I don't know about but it was a growing experience like we ALL had. I never once gave my kids permission to drink nor did I allow it in my home. I gave my kids my undivided attention from the moment they came into this world. They were and still are a reflection of where they are raised. AND I AM PROUD.

Why would you assume the others don't have children? There opinion is as important to them as yours is to you. Seems to me your response has more to do with your issues with Dave Mejias!
