This is what happens when you go poking around a house you don't belong at. Phelps was wrong for chasing them, but he did have every right to confront them and kick their asses.

If you're going to pound on doors at 3:00 a.m., you'd better be sure of the address. They're lucky they didn't get shot.

There sounds like there is more to the story than this. How does someone not know what their cousin's house looks like? Sounds like it could have been a drug situation gone bad.

Get real...They were trying to rob the house and were scared off.... End of story.

Something’s just not right with this story. I have cousins who have been here to visit. They always call to make sure I’m home or will be awake and visit at a decent hour of the day. They also know, as do my family and friends that pounding on my window at 3AM is a good way to get shot.

Channel 12 news had a story that the 15 year old was a spon to be expectant father so no one had been watching that kid for a long time.

Didn't the story say they were at the WINDOW at 2:30AM? Why are you at a window and not the door.

Seems a little bit like that old guy in Texas who shot the two "people" robbing his neighbor's house and then went through hell for it.

I definitely agree with many of you guys here. There is more to this story than what is being said. 15 and 17 year old kids driving around in a probably stolen car, at 2:30 in the morning to pick up a cousin. How do you go to the wrong address? It's not like they live that far away from each other- one from Central Islip, and the other from Brentwood - Jonathan being from brentwood. If they were really planning to sneak his "cousin" out to go to Mcd's they should have stayed in the car, while the cousin waits for them in the front stoop of his house until they came to pick him up.
