My wife and I took a drive out to New York this past weekend. We drove past the "Hilltop" beer distributor by the Giant Eagle Plaza in Harborcreek on the return trip. We read two bright yellow signs while waiting at the red light. Something along the lines of- "Lawrence Park Police officers not permitted on Hilltop premises" and "If two Lawrence Park Police Officers can lie under oath, all of them can."
Interesting...

When I first read this thread title, I thought you meant the beer distributor that was (is?) on East Tenth Street. I'm pretty sure that one was (is?) called Eastside Beer.

Hmm...can't picture that one. Whereabouts on E.10th? By the On-Deck tavern?

It was close to East Avenue. I used to go there for Malt Duck. That and I had a little crush on Bert, too.

LOL WHAT? That's great. They never checked my ID there and I just turned 21 not even a year ago... I thought that was strange. I get carded everywhere else.

These signs have nothing to do with the business. The business is in Harborcreek, not Lawrence Park. The only jurisdiction the LP police have is to enforce the fire lanes in the larger plazas of Harborcreek Township.

No, these signs are from some legal issues the owner had with an officer of the LP dept.

If that were true then when we had a break-in at our home in Harborcreek the LP police officer wouldn't have come to take our report. But he did.

That's not the reason for the signs.

I do not know all the details, but he was falsely accused, an officer took the complaint and charged him. He was found not guilty and has an axe to grind.

Well, exactly how would you feel if a police officer provided false information that lead to the charges? You would have an axe to grind too.

From what I know.....the police didn't do a good investigation. They only got one side of the story and charged him with all kind of CRAZY charges for a little neiborhood argument. He ended up fighting it all the way and going thru a jury trial where he beat ALL the charges but still lost like $5,000 -$8,000 having to pay for a lawyer.

Wow talk about head in the sand! The guy is a hot headed jerk and I played softball against him for years. If he wasn’t doing anything wrong and was such a saint like you make with out to be he WOULD NOT have been arrested. So you say he was found not guilty, but that does not mean he was innocent! I bet you think OJ didn’t do it either because he was found “not guilty”. Wow you must be a family member!! What he needs is a rectal cranial inversion! I have been a life long Creeker and went there countless times. I assure you I will never go there again and will tell my neighbors and family to do the same. The bottom line is guilty or not, grow up and act like an adult and not a spoiled six year old. I have never seen such juvenile behavior from a business owner.
