i recently went to him about my reptile and he gave so many misleading tips. he ended up charging me over 200 dollars for nothing!!! outrageous. him and his staff could go hide in a hole for all i care. He is not educated and knows nothing about reptiles. A good vet would honestly say i don't know if he/she really doesn't know. But Dr. Grecco did what he thought was right and didn't care if it would harm our pets. He charged 100 dollars for a lab test, 50 dollars for the checkup and 16 dollars for a cream which i could have gotten at stop and shop for 5 dollars. Come on, FOR REAL??? Dr. Grecco, u can suck my @$$

All I know is that making a threat on Jan. 6 to burn Dr. Greco along with an impersonation dated 16 hours ago talking about burning a mans business down (must be your thoughts since you wrote it) makes me think the Dr. should report this to the police as a hate crime. Oh Dr Greco is a Suffolk County SPCA officer. Comments on service is one thing, looking to harm Dr.Greco and burn his business isn't funny. I am reporting this to Yahoo

That's right! When Dr. Greco came out of Veterinary school he only had one thing on his mind. "Oh ho! I just finished multiple years of Veterinary school, I'm in 100,000 dollars in debt from student loans, and now my main career goal is to make animals suffer and to screw over clients! OH ho!" What idiot thinks that someone becomes a veterinarian to screw over animals? I honestly never thought there was someone that stupid. |

1 Out of thousands of patients only about 70 came online to badmouth him. Do the math, he is a very good doctor and I recommend him to anyone. AND HIS TECHS? BAD PEOPLE? What the hell is wrong with you? The techs and receptionists are some of the nicest people I've ever met. Please humor me and tell me how they wronged you, I need a good laugh. |

I dont know anyone that's been happy there.He rips people off.Thats the bottom line.He is overcharging and people are sick of it.These animals all need good homes but with those prices who can afford to have an animal?They turn a yearly exam and shots into a $200-$300 visit.He tends to give unecessary lab work and sells you every pill under the sun.Im done there.Im glad your happy that's what matters I guess

I'd like to make a point here. Veterinarians are not magical healers that can look at your pet and instantly figure out what is wrong with your pet. They need to do tests to narrow down what is wrong with your pet so they can treat it properly.
Now some people say that this is a excuse to rip them off. I completely disagree with those statements. Can an animal talk and help the vet narrow down what is wrong with it? Of course not! That is why they must do so many tests of your animal At a human hospital, you would want a doctor to do EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING to find out what is wrong with your daughter and/or son or YOU. The same goes for vets. There is a thing called insurance. Without it, some hospital trips would probably make you lose your home. If you buy a pet, you should expect to bring it to a veterinarian and be spending quite a few dollars. THIS IS WHY THERE IS SUCH THING AS PET INSURANCE!!! If you want to avoid all these high bills, get pet insurance. It is completely worth it and in the long run it will cut down those vet bills and keep your pet healthy at an affordable cost. |

I really take offense to you Bob McNally for the generalization that the techs that work for Dr. G. are miserable. Speak for yourself. I have not met you personally, but if i did I feel as if you would have a completely different opinion of me and all of the other techs. All of us are very pleasant, efficient and willing to help the clients and the patients. Maybe you should try and do our job.

The techs receptionsits kennel staff, and other doctors are the only ones holding that place together. Dr. Campanelli is no longer there which sucks but at least they have Dr.Beyer and Perry. Dr. Greco wont take the time to talk to you. He just says "do these tests or put him down" hes not very sensitive. But he will be very happy to take your $400 afterwards. Dr.Campanelli is at Countryside animal hospital in Port Jeff Sta. Go there and see her.
Bob- Im sorry if you had a bad experience with the techs at AMH. Im sure it wasnt Janice. She has been there for years and is the best one in that place. You should make sure shes there because the otherones do come off snoody. Yeah Janice! |

Dr. Greco shouldn't even be allowed to call himself a doctor. He did such a poor job stiching up my dog, the stiches broke and unraveled. A trip to Animal Emergency and they said that was not the best way to stitch the incision. When I finally got the man to call me back he hung up on me -- he can't speak with his customers when things go wrong evidently. This man shouldn't even be practicing. 2.5 weeks later and I'm still going back and forth to the new vet to fix the complications from Greco's hack job.

They are the worst place you can go....Our bird became ill, he said we will run some tests and diagnose that he had to keep him over night. Our bird ended up dying over night at his "great hospital" as so many of you claim does not have an overnight staff. He had charged us initially 450 for the diagnostics he ran and we wanted the bird's body so that we could bury him in our yard because he's been part of our family for 17 years but this guy wants us to pay 150 for it because of it's "What we owe him" as they claim....who does that?? This guy absolutely has no morals the bird died in his care and he is prob most likely responsible from a misdiagnosis but he just wants his money.

I have read some of these posts! It is disgusting to read some of them. I use Doctor Greco quite often,He has always been helpful and never has a problem if I have an emergency,I am a small hobby breeder and the man even gives me his private number if I need him. Trust me, not many vets do that!As far as over charging.NO I dont think so! All vets are high priced now I dont care where you go.The man devotes tons of time to rescues and K9 Training. come on people GET REAL! how many of you would do that, he is involved in alot of wonderful and caring projects concerning animals, I would say he is an animal lover!! so get real all of you!Everyone has their opinion, but to go as far as bashing is not very good.I have tried many vets,I stay with him, and the Ridge staff are very sweet. I have asbsolutely no problems with this man, and many of my clients use him and adore him! so to each his own, i think people just like to nit pick, but I say hes a fabulous guy,great vet, and a caring family man and animal lover to boot!
