He carried the mail on the route by our house when I was growing up and Mr. Raymond Head carried it before him. They both were really good men.

They both were really good men. Thanks for that information. If I have my records straight, Raymond and Earl were brothers. Raymond died in 1960 and Earl must have been a lot tougher because he made it to age 91 in 1989. I'd appreciate any more stories and info on the Heads of Clay Co. I've heard some about Harve Head.

I just was notified that there was a new posting about this and saw your message. Yes, you are related to my husband....distantly. His parents were Lafayette "Fay" Head and Gillie Smith. There was another brother Azle Tandy who died in L. A. and brought back for buried at Macedonia in 1954. I'd be very happy to swap info with you. I'd like to know more about Azle.
