Great Neck Official Charged With Attempted Rape of Teen Girl

it's lie, why the girl accept to get in his house?!

Nick Nabavian in on the zoning board in Great Neck, a member of the board of a volunteer fire department and on the board of the Mashadi Jewish Center and a member of the political party that runs Great Neck.
His wife and children are out of the country. He is the only one living in his home at the time of the alleged rape. He picked up the young stranger and volunteered to drive her home. Instead he drove her to his home in Great Neck.
The young woman tried to call the police using her cell phone. Nabavian grabbed her phone and broke it.
He allegedly threatened to harm the girl.
Nabavian eventually drove the young girl back to her home.
Question: Why didn't Nabavian drive the young woman directly to her home?
The odds are that Nabavian will have a lot of "explaining" to do. His actions and intent speak volumes.

am i missing something here. nick nabavians status as a zoning official or his affiliation with a community has absolutely nothing to do with the charges levied against him. A has nothing to do with Z. with that said, none knows what really happened and mr. nabavian is innocent untill proven otherwise. i myself do now know what actually happened nor does anyone else. the question i ask myself like any prudent person should do is...what is a girl(woman) doing getting back into his car after what she called the alleged crime? if a girl got raped and abused do you not think she wouldbe screaming at the top of her lungs. and if he broke her phone...she mustve called the police immediately after she got to her friends house to report the crime..no?..i mean nick should have realized that breking a phone in one minute..doesnt do any good if 10 minutes later she can call the police from her friends house within the comfort of her friend and say whatever she wants to the police. now i know its a juicy news story but i do think that certain stories on the surface dont make any sense at all.

the girl is dating another mashad boy (18) who lives in great neck. i believe that she was looking to get a ride to his house

There is no mention of kidnapping or false imprisonment so then, what was the girl doing voluntarily entering Nick's house. Nick may have some moral culpability but no where near rape or indecent asault, something tells me the girl conscients are not clean.

Hi. For everyone to know-- I will not give my name here but let's just say that she is my best friend. If anybody wants to know the details, I have them. Ad the proof, the police have. If anybody has any questions as to what happened, feel free to ask because I think it is sick how people could believe that she is making this up. This girl turned to Nick for advice. He was a "friend" of her boyfriend's parents and of her boyfriend himself. She got in the car with him the same way that she would get in the car with a friend's parent to talk. She trusted this guy and he took advantage of her. You want the exact details, I'll give them. But please don't go ahead and say that what he did was right. Especially when it comes to a 45 year old and a 17 year old girl. Besides, it just sounds sketchy anyways!!!
