What is this county manager thinking we are going to get sued- Charles Kretek, partner with Jarod Hofacket at Hofacket and Kretek, 115 E. Ash St., took issue with the advice of Luna County manager John Sutherland to the Board of Commissioners to pursue negotiations with a firm not listed as the first recommendation on a request for proposal sheet.

Well Kretek, if people like you had done more to stop corruption in the city/county you would not be the sore loser now. You are getting what you deserve: which is the same thing most of us receive in Deming: THE SHAFT!

Ha Ha Kretek, it sucks when your are not a part of the "good ol boy system". Maybe you should talk about you DWI and how you manipulated the system to get out of the charge.

The nerve of Kretek and Mesa to cry about the "good ol boy network"; they are the 'good ol boy network. They even complained that things were unfair and tainted -which is what they have been doing for years to people in this community. Why do they want to know who is on the panel? Do they plan on harrassing people or try to bribe someone?

I would have like to have seen Hofacket be the county's attorney, but not once he affiliated with Kretek. That was a major misstep on Jerrod's part. Now he has to live with the DWI-evading less-than-honorable partner and it is already hurting his practice.

I can't believe Kretek feels like he can even show his face in town after dodging the DWI and all the other shifty things he has done. And then to stand up and whine at a public forum. The commissioners were absolutely correct in choosing the outside firm. More power to cleaning up the corruption!!!

Perhaps it was a change of heart, perhaps some read comments on this Forum, and how much they really think of Mr.Kretek. It was a much better and correct decision though, and certainly a step in the right direction on getting some honesty back in Deming, at least we all hope so.

Just in case people didn't know the other 3 panel members were, they are Special Projects Director - Rheganne Foster-Vaughan, Human Resources Director - Danny Gonzales, and Budget Director - Joanne Heathcox. And they were part of the "good ol' boy" days of kick-backs of money from the Detention Centers profit...along with Gilmore, Scott, Martha Long...among others. Sorry guys, not more kick-backs due to honest Detention Center and County Manager Administration. TOO BAD!

When Scott was here the kick-backs from the Detention Center was a big ordeal, he rewarded all of this gang with percentages of the profit of the Detention Center, that is a known fact that a lot of people know in this county and that is the whole truth. what the heck wrote: <quoted text> Are you saying that all this people were not re contracted for the county? or are you saying that this people were all in the good ol boy system? do you know for a fact that they took kick backs? just wondering ya know I would like to know for sure! Its amazing how everything is just coming out dont you think?

Does this overpaid woman even have a degree? To me it seems that she's one of the "good ol' boy" regime and she needs to be the next one out of this county government. She is overpaid, unqualified...very unprofessional and dresses like mentioned above a "high paying ho"!!! LMAO

To everyone: As for some of the other county staff that you all are claiming to be good ol boys, just because they were friends with Scott does not make them good ol boys, many of them became friends because they worked at the county. And personally whether or not they are, if they know how to do their jobs and do it well and was the best applicant when interviewed then they should have their job. And if you have never interviewed anyone, seriously you would not believe the number of people who apply that think they are qualified to do the job. Honestly it can be hard to not hire someone you may think is in the good ol boy network. Complain about the people in the paper if you want but leave the other hardworking employees out of it, cause it sound like your bitter they work at the county and you don't and I will side with an employee who is good at his/her job over someone who has to resort to derogatory terms in an attempt to get their point across.

Mr. Sutherland is not of the "good ol boy network", he is trying hard to clean Scott's "good ol boy network" and is doing a good job. Javier Diaz is trying to fight him to keep the same "good ol' boy network" ways because we have to remember he is Scott's #1 buddy!
