Gangs are made up of lost little kids that are desperate for attention. Most of them come from broken homes where mom and dad don't love them. They gang up together because they think that it makes them some how more of a man to be a member of a group of thugs. Sadly, what they fail to realize is that the average gang member doesn't live to long....They have no future to look forward to other than prison, and it is so rare that one of them actually comes out of a gang to actually do something with their lives. sad, such a waste of a life to become a gang member. Walking around with this false illusion that they some how doing something with thier lives, I really take pitty on these lost little meaningless souls. Its so sad. If there was one point of advice I could give to them as individuals, it would be to get out of that crap while you still can. Do something with your life for the betterment of your life. There is so much more to life that you could be doing other than wasting your life in a "gang". NOTHING GOOD COMES OUT OF BEING A GANG MEMBER. NOTHING.

Wow. How can all of you be so ignorant? My best friend DeAndre Netter was killed by a gang. My boyfriend lives in an area where we can't be seen together because of all the racial tensions between Mexicans and Blacks. I lived in an area where soo much Gang Violence filled the streets. We had ppl bringing crow bars to my high school to attack other student from different sets.
I understand how you think gangs can provide protection. Sometimes, yes, i admit, you are right. When the police are not able to do their jobs and your family is being torn apart, sometimes gangs seem like the only stable part of your life.
