Lord have mercy people. Stop for a minute and listen at yourselves how you degrade a place where you live. Walter only asked is it a nice place for retirement? Give him a decent answer and let it go. Remember the same stuff that goes on in Uniontown ,go on in every other town, you may not know of it but its there.Welfare, foodstamps, and disability are for those than are in the real need for it. Those that are defrauding the system are only hurting themselves, It will come out afterwhile. We innocent people that try to live and do whats right majority of the time and not accepting things that we are not intitled to will be blessed. Lets pray for the frauders and hop that one day soon they will turn thier life over to a man thats able and willing to correct their sad behavior, lets not talk so bad about them are degrade them its not for us to judge them, but all this nonsense will come to light. Let me petition all of you that are not save people, which iam not saying you are not, because i don"t know to come to Christ and save yourself before its to late. all you have to do is believe and confess your sins to him and he is faithful and just to forgive you of your sins if you can just believe that jesus died and rose on the third day thy shall be saved. then you are saved. then find you a church home somewhere and unite, then ask your pastor for baptism and become a full pledge member of that church and serve with all you have and do what you think jesus would do. No iam not a pastor, or an evangelist just want you, you, and you to be saved like me. stop the fighting among yourselves. give GOD a chance to come into your life and be a part of it. I love yall sister and brothers in Christ.

Telling the truth is no sin. Corruption lives and thrives in Uniontown as it probably will forever. How many generations of the same families must taxpayers support before our idiot politicians realize that their programs have been a dismal failure? Until our policies change to weed out the undeserving in these programs and start demanding something in return for taxpayers hard earned money, we will continue to waste trillions of dollars nationally to provide for inferior people and by these programs encouraging fools to raise more fools. Democrats raising more democrats.

Oh yeah? You may be one of these inferior people I've referred to. You know blacks hardly ever tell the truth regardless. All I have said is true. You just have to see it. The most stupid and sorry people in the world live in Uniontown, Al. You are ignorant yourself if you don't have the intelligence to see it.

Growing up in U'town was an experience unlike any I have ever heard of before. Twenty five years later and living on the other side of the country, I can say without a doubt, it was probably the ideal place to develop a young mind. Certainly not a place for the weak or unwary. The variety of people there was astounding. The rest of world paled in comparison. Most that I grew up with are all very successful, with no shortage of professionals, all college educated from the large universities in the State, with advanced degrees in many cases. I must add that we all had to attend private schools, as they exist within 20 miles in any direction. We still had to grow up there and were exposed early on to all sorts. Intellectuals, grand ole parties, social functions, history, drunks, racial issues including upper class whites, less fortunate whites in the village and blacks, mentally ill that roamed free, drugs and violence that really only amounted to fist fights and a few stabbings. If you were weak, you fell prey to the weaknesses, if not, you experienced it for what it was worth and grew from it. Most had hired help in the house that raised us for the most part. We hunted, we fished, we biked, we camped,we played sports, we had bonfires on the fly and never locked a door or took a key out of a car, we had enormous fun. We were safe, as no one dared bother us, regardess of whether we were in town riding bikes at midnight, or camping in each other's front yard, not even the police harrassed you. Anyone would give you a ride and if your car broke, the first person to see you helped. Anonymity did not exist. Segregation was still veiled and prevelant and black and white just left each other alone, and everyone got along. Old Southern aristocracy really amounted to a bunch of drunks with some land, a run down plantation house and not a lot of the old man's money left. The church people were the same as in any small town, hypocracy lined, gossip oriented and supporters of personal guilt discipline. Business was small, local and thriving. Basically, you were free to let your mind go anywhere, see anything, or do whatever made you happy at that moment. It was no fairy tale, mind you, competition was fierce, redneck influences abound. Your parents would set you straight if necessary, and it was not the corner or time out, much, much more aggressive and rarely necessary after the first time. There were no soccer moms, no rigid schedules, no technology of any sort. It truly was that simple. Alas, all good things end. I have thought about it a great deal and came to the conclusion that leadership is essential for any community. The leadership that has existed in Uniontown since the early 70's has brought that once great town to its knees, and its grandeur and history will never return. When people who are not fit to lead are elected because they meet a color criteria, then all is lost. It all started when the first black mayor, Hayden began building Section 8 housing, or hatcheries, whichever you prefer, and soliciting northern, unmarried welfare recips and their teenage children. The current leadership is just another link to a long chain of failures. I thought maybe one day the situation would improve and would move back there to retire, but as I understand, it is ruined as the equally dismal county government has allowed a garbage dump to be put in the backyard of Uniontown. Very sad. As Uniontown's current situation is pretty sad, I just thought you all might want to know what it once was like.

The Blogger from Demopolis is crazy. I mean he really has it in for Uniontown. This is very sad. He needs help. He is a racist plain and simple. His views on black people are limited. Please get a clue. Better yet get a life.

What makes you think I am not telling the truth about Uniontown? I only deal in things I know. You are using all the typical excuses. Am I hitting close to home?

It is sad that truth from Demopolis would say bad things about 1 town when it is all over the world (welfare, food stamps, and etc.) If you're not trying to help u can keep you're comments to yourself, cause u are no better than we are. So me as a resident of Uniontown I would advise u to worry about u and yours. And find something to do with your time. Cause there are good people here who make their own money and don't have to wait on welfare checks. But for those who do wait on welfare checks there is no need to critizes. Like the song say, "Sweep around your own front door before u try to sweep around mine."

I too would advise against a move to Uniontown,AL. I would, however, recommend the County Seat, Marion, Al. Marion, though not a large town, is much larger than Uniontown and has many, many, many nice homes for sale. It has all of Uniontowns" nice things" with only 1/10th the problems. Urgent care is still an issue after the local clinic has closed fo the day. 24 hour care is available twenty minutes away in Selma, or Centerville. Two fantastic small colleges are located in Marion with numerous soical and cicic events throughout the year.

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Sagittarius

The rumour mill is especially active, and interesting tales are coming at you from all sides. Don't believe everything you hear: there are people who will start gossip to further their own aims and you don't want to help them unwittingly. Similarly, don't reveal too much of yourself to those who you don't know intimately - keep your own counsel.
