Hand sanitizer: just a public ritual

Everywhere I go, there is a pump bottle of hand sanitizer on the counter. By everywhere, I mean everywhere - banks, stores, doctor's offices, car dealerships, you name it.

Joe, you're not fooling anyone. You've had a bottle of sanitizer in your car for years. You wipe down the chair and studio desk area every day before you go on the air. You put your own microphone sock on the studio mic. You've been "neurotically fearful of germs" for years.

Well, around 60 people in the US are killed by lightning strikes each year.

Maybe we should all drag little chains like gasoline tankers used to?

Those hand sanitizers contain 60% alcohol I carry a little bottle of vodka that is only 40% and a little sip after every time I have contact with people keeps me healthy.

Actually, I think those were used to dissipate static build up. Besides, I've got a foil hat that......
