We both agree these are horrible things which have happened. Miff Romney was directly responsible for sending jobs overseas. I understand that he is trying to lie out of it. The outcome of the stimulus money is no better. In the stimulus case, who approved the money and who wrote the laws directing how the money would be spent? That would be congress. Obama asked for the funds and congress gave him the funds and set the conditions for their allocation. I have stated before that it doesn't matter much who is president. If the truth were known, there is a high probability that both candidates are backed by the same super wealthy who have control of our congress. Voting out any incumbent member of congress and replacing them with persons who hopefully will not be corrupted is our only chance as voters of fixing this mess. Replacing them with more persons sworn to never raise taxes on the rich will change nothing.

What is worse, being the CEO or whatever over a company that sent jobs oversears or being the POTUS and using stimulus money that created jobs overseas?

As I said earlier, it's not the everyday working Joe like us that's sending jobs overseas, it's everybody from the POTUS, those currently in office and those wanting to be in office. Let's be fair, everybody with their finger in the pie of making money from outsourcing are the very people that don't need it. Does Mitt Romney, Jeffrey Immelt, Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Bill Gates, George Soros,....(if not directly, they've all indirectly made out like bandits off job outsourcing) need this money? I'm all for people making as much money as they can and as I've said before most make it by crook or hook in politics; however, let's give everyone their due that gets it by directly or indirectly shipping jobs that WE need in the U.S. overseas.
GASP...I agree with Mike about buying products made in the US in your own town/city if possible and keeping the jobs and money here (I added those words, but he may have used them). As long as we use foreign produced products, then we can forget job creation in the U.S.

Well it starts with automobiles. All mine are and always will be American. That is to say made...not merely assembled..in America using a majority of American parts.I know parts come from everywhere these days. When I shop I pay more if I can find textiles made in America.I found some socks made in America! They cost more than Chinese socks but the quality is excellent. To give an example. And I just bought a Sportster which is an American bike.Unfortunately I could not locate an American TV manufacturer. But I did locate an old THOMASVILLE couch.....made before they....went away.I'm sitting on it now.

Here's an interesting article:

http://www.thereformedbroker.com/2009/11/07/g...

Don't get me wrong, if people make money, that's great, it's the American dream; however, selling out the American people to make one's personal dream come true wouldn't be how I'd roll.

WRONG!!! This is a representative republic where everyone has the right to be stupid. You, my friend abuse the privilege.
this post should prove to everyone how much of an idiot you are.
The actual name for our government is a constitutional republic.
The power is in the people and we vote on officials to direct that power.
a republic is a type of democracy. our economy is based on capitalism.
democracy is not "majority rules". thats our political party system.
please tell me you know what democracy means.

As far as sending jobs overseas, it's nobody's fault but our own and the govt's (both parties) thru high corporate taxes, NAFTA, wages, entitlements, healthcare, etc...
When I started my buisness, I didn't do so to create jobs for others, to put food on others tables, to be a pillar in the community, etc..., it was to MAKE MORE MONEY! If the others happen, great, they're simply byproducts.
Ask yourself the question, if you could manufacturer widgets in the U.S.,(with the current taxes, cost of employment, cost of healthcare, etc...), and that cost was $12 per widget or you could manufacture widgets in China, Mexico, Thailand, etc... for $1.50 per widget, an increased profit of $10.50 per widget, where would your factory be?
Now your the CEO and you answer to the shareholders of the company who depend on the stock for income, retirement for themselves or others, etc...and their votes determine wether or not you keep your job, where would your factory be?
Keeping jobs here sounds great but when the govt wants 38% corporate taxes,(Obama wants to raise that to 45%), employees want $15-$30 an hour, low premiums to free healthcare, for a half days work,(and yes, we have a lazy society), and private buisnesses trying to compete on an unlevel playing field against govt backed businesses, I can see why major corporations move jobs overseas!

Pro American you are simply wrong about Americans being lazy.Know how many Americans work two jobs? Did you know that American workers are STILL the most productive in the world? You seem to be confusing WORKERS with welfare recipients. Is telling American workers they are not worth a damn the new republican strategy? How many times do I have to hear that wealthy people work so HARD for their money? You think somebody making 12 bucks an hour working sunup to sundown is lazy because he's not rich?

Hey Pro, long time no hear. I did leave out my earlier post about sending jobs overseas and I know I'm going to get slammed for this, but people could make more money stateside if they'd keep the dadburn unions out of everything. The money people sink into unions to do their "bargaining" is money they could keep in their pockets and they wouldn't need to demand their employer pay them more because some of their pay is going to union dues. Unions have been given way too much power. I've always said when the union says we'll go on a strike, do people that work for unions think that the big guys are doing without a paycheck while they're walking around picket lines with signs?

Pro American I believe in compromise.SLASH corporate taxes! To the bone! Make America the place to open up a business! With our highly trained work force and no corporate taxes we might even get foreign companies to come here resulting in HIGH employment! When people have jobs they can BUY GOODS! They can pay sales tax! The more people make the more they tend to spend.Robert Stowes idea.

The non-partisan Tax POLICY Center says Romneys twenty percent across-the-board tax cut would increase the after-tax earnings of those making a million or more a year by 4.1 percent while decreasing the after tax earnings of those making two hundred thousand a year or under by 1.2 percent.

Waco, I said we have a lazy society, NOT all Americans are lazy. If you ever had to try and hire or employ anyone, you'd see for yourself. One day when you get a couple trucks and start looking for drivers to run those trucks, you'll see what I mean.

New York and Alaska have the highest percentage of union workers in the country.North Carolina is dead last.I really don't see how the evil unions are hurting North Carolina. You don't hardly have any.So why is North Carolina in such bad shape? Union membership is at an all-time low in any case.Seems to me some of you guys love to demonize the American worker. If there is something wrong with the country its the fault of the workers? Republican bullshit.

Hey Bacon, glad to back.....for now.
I agree, unions had their place back in the day but with all of the govt regulations we have today, theres no need for the unions. And yes, those union dues go to pay the rich salaries of those in charge while the workers are striking with no pay.....while costing the company they're holding hostage profits!
And as I've started before, even FDR was against govt unions which have led to the unlevel playing fields.

It worked in Ireland. Employers were paying people to relocate because there were more jobs than people.

Daily Horoscope for May 24

Capricorn

If you need to get someone organized, this is the day to do it. You'll sort things out without sounding bossy or patronizing, and you'll also get co-operation instead of resistance. It's a good day for having a serious chat with a child, perhaps because you need to explain something and want to make sure you do it properly, in a way that doesn't create confusion or fear.
