Student with toy gun causes lock down at North County High

Bringing the gun to school was a premediated malicious act intended against another student. He deserves to be punished to the full extent of the law and the school's policies. If not, the next time, it might be the real thing with tragic consequences.

Headline is misleading

My guess is this "toy gun" is one of those guns that looks exactly like the real deal. The headline may inadvertantly minimize the seriousness of what this student did. I hope the school uses this case as a strong example of what can happen when a student terrorizes another student -- be it with a toy gun or a real weapon.

If this young adult does not get suspended, the message has been sent to the rest of us that the adminstration is to lax. Better yet, expel the student. Zero tolerance.

i don't like the fact you said it was a toy gun. it was an air soft gun and he could have seriously injured another student.

Air soft guns are toy guns. they are not firearm so they're correct in calling it a toy. This reminds me of a Christmas Story..."you'll shoot your out." I love the holidays.

where is the parent here? parent should be punish too? how old isthis kid? needs a good weeping.that ll teachhim. i know a lot of kid dont know the rules. but parents should read the school rules to them.
