Yeah well in another incident where a kid hit a mother of 3 over the head with a chain where she had to have 10 staples on her head because she was trying to get 4 boys off her son, the Dublin cops took over 20 minutes to show up. In fact so did the parametics that are from down the street. They shouldn't brag about their 2 minutes to show up to the Jack n the box stabbing. Shoot they were probably at the donut shop or the Starbucks that are both right there.

You think maybe Dublin PD in the incident you describe may have been handling other calls? What is it you think the police do? Wait for calls for service and then rush to the scene? If you are so certain about cops should be doing, there are thousands of openings across the state. Take the test, get hired, go to the academy, and work the streets yourself, THEN come back and tell us how much you know.

Oh no no no... don't ask a liberal big mouth like TMB867 to actually back up or prove the pure garbage that they put out. Ignorance is bliss and folks like TMB are the worst ones as they like to share their ignorance.

I appreciate other peoples opinions and I like to hear the other side but, please don't bitch just to bitch. Educate yourself before you comment...walk a mile in a cops shoes before you even think of commenting....oh, and TMB, since I know you'll never step up and do something that doesn't involve a desk...maybe go down to Dublin PD and ask for a ride along....if your not too scared to get in the car and sign the liability waiver!!!!!!!!!

first off... if you are going to post your own opinion, make sure that anyone cares. second of all.. TMB is fully justified in what he/she said. the Tracy Dwelling "blah" specimen above does not seem to understand that things such as response time are extremely important. Understandable that both situations are dangerous. But as for the police force lately...
i had to pick up my younger cousin from a party last night where 6 cop cars showed up to shut down a party of High School Srs. do you really think it is absolutely necessary for that? On top of this, they were threatening with Tasers, had guns not only visible but AIMED at some of them. Police are all in all misunderstanding what they are really here for. they are not here to stop parties, make sure that the neighborhood is nice and quiet and there are no "loiterers" at local hang out spots.. which is RIDICULOUS also... loitering.. for goodness sake.. why can we just hang out.. but they need to realise that if they were not so focused on being the big gun and making sure that their targets are weaker than themselves and growning some fucking CAJONES... then maybe things like this stabbing and the chain whip could be avoided, and if not, handled a TON better than they have been. so as for you that think they need no sort of improvment.. please think again. i am absolutly not saying that ALL police are like that. and i am not taking away credit where credit is due.. i would just like to SEE where it is due first.

also to this im sorry.. but as you point the finger of blame.. do you happen to be one of those that have taken the test and been hired? or are you simply another opinionated response looking to give someone a hard time because you think that you "know" something more than they do??

Backup what? It took the cops 20 minutes to show up. What are you asking to be backed up? We were there and the cops didn't show up. They took there sweet time as usual. The ignorace lies with trusting cops. Truth is garbage to you huh????? Actually ride alongs are good because the cops point out all the cameras in dublin. My daughter did a ride along once and that is all that happened. I might get a tour of the coffee shops too. Sign a waiver for what, so if the cop takes me somewhere and beat me up I can't do anything. That's what the waiver is for huh????

its not like the cops got the call and decided to wait around for 20 minutes, or go get some fast food and donuts first. they were probably busy. but at the same time they should maybe have more patrols in that area if its gonna take that long. it takes a second to kill someone.

You know TMB, I don't really know why I bother, since your statements are just ignorant, but I think I do it for the others who are listening in. Why would you make a statement about a cop beating you on a ride along....just stupid.
Anyway, did you call the police during that incident. Do you know who did and when. Could it be that a call was not made or the person who made the call did not give the dispatcher the information on how bad the scene was or what occured. Yes, it is possible there was some mix up with the police as well...but, I know first hand that the police will race to a call of that seriousness. What I'm saying is, when did the officers and paramedics learn of the actual call? Something to think about. Cops, paramedics and firefighters do not have little ESP helmets they were which alerts them to crimes going on in the city and the magnitude of the crime. They rely on citizens to report crimes, and are only as good as the information they get. If it took 20 minutes, and I believe you, don't outright blame the officers...there is more going on behind the scenes than you know.
Oh, and as far as your daughters ride along. Hey, just like any job, some days are slow....but, the day a man breaks into your house and tries to do your family harm, I bet you'll be the first to forget all your nonsense statements. You'll be on the phone with 911 begging for those donut eating, slow reacting, lazy cops to respond and save you and your family. When they do, you will have nothing but praise for them. Then the next week, you will get a parking ticket and go right back to your normal ways. Don't worry, we are used to it.

Mismal...just a couple of thoughts...keep an open mind...

1. Do you know what the police were responding too? Could they have been responding to a fight, a man with a gun, a reported stabbing...or was it just a HS party?

2. Do you know what happened when they first arrived? Did anyone listen to the cops when they told the party goers to disperse. Did these probably drunk kids go along with the program or did they tell the cops to F off?

3. Have you ever tried to break up a party of 20 30 100 people..kids or not, who have been drinking / using drugs. Have you done it alone or with just a few other people against very uneven odds.

4. Do you think you can walk into a party with 2, 3, 4 cops and tell people to disperse and they say, yes sir and leave. Especially when most are intoxicated to some degree.

5. Have you ever been hit over the head with a beer bottle?

Just some thoughts for the next party you have to break up?

I am never begging a cop to come to my house for anything. They never show up until its too late anyway and then they make there own story fit. Figures are you a cop. Tooting his horn. You should be use to it.

I do believe this thread is on a stabbing in LIVERMORE not dublin. anyway kudos to the LPD for the quick response and arrests. But i wouldnt get to worked up over this stabbing, theres gonna be plenty more to come, considering its summer and thats when gang activity goes way up.

As I said before, the response wasn't for you, it's meant for the folks out there with common sense and an open mind. It's unfortunate that your bad experiences with the police (could it be an arrest?) would cause you not to call for help. Good luck and I hope that situation never occurs.

Glad to hear that an arrest is at least occasionally made in Livermore.
