There really isn't much for the college kids or the residents of Geneseo to do. Everything except the bars, Walmart & Wegmans close up by 8pm.

or going on line to make a bunch of stupid comments on topix???

the open parties were a lot of fun when i went to school there and i have a lot of fond memories of geneseo. met a lot of my good friends at parties and even my wife. would be sad if they took it away, its part of college. ultimately its your own responsibility if you drink too much and individuals must take responsibility for their own actions. please don't ruin my school and make it into some lame "book worm" only school.

What is up with Geneseo students being so irresponsible and obsessed with drinking??? Maybe it's the bar they have that's pretty much ON CAMPUS? Hmmm...go figure. I see it hasn't changed any since I graduated in 2007. These idiots give my alma mater a bad name...so sad.
It really annoys me when people say that the only thing Geneseo students ever do is drink and party, because there's nothing else to do. I am currently a SUNY Geneseo student, and I never drink. I never plan on drinking in the future, either. Truthfully, just the smell of an alcoholic beverage repulses me. I agree that a lot of people do it, but so do students at any other college. It's just because something tragic happened here that everyone is pointing fingers. Geneseo is not a town known for its night life, but believe me I can find plenty of things to do to entertain myself. I am involved in numerous clubs/organizations on campus, I go to the "Late Knight" events (which are all alcohol free), and I also spend time studying (believe it or not). I'm the first to agree with you that there are a lot of idiots who do stupid things, but don't make generalizations about all of the students.

P.S. I have never even seen or been to the I.B. and I am a junior.

What people seem to forget is that there was a large group of members from the PIG organization there that night along with other students. No one tried to stop this binge drinking. These young men are taking the entire blame for the other 20 or 30 people who participated that night.

Leroy, why does it have to turn into a race issue? also rochester girl, good for you and your decision to have one drink in your life. you do realize that you are one of very few right? its a fact that kids go away to school and experiment, but i agree with customer and concerned parent. those "brothers" should have realized as they carried his lifeless unconscious body up the stairs that he needed help.

It doesn't, but seeing all black or city crimes are made into a race or class issues, I can't help myself in giving it back to them.
Maybe it will make them think about their own comments or maybe even get them to start to realize that no race or class of people are better then others.
40 murders black/City residents and 40 dead white/burb residents are the same thing, 40 dead people.

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Capricorn

You're swayed by your emotions today, making you susceptible to other people's machinations. Are you putty in the hands of your beloved? Are you willing to do whatever, just to keep the peace? Watch out for the influence of another's black mood, or you'll soon start to feel just as miserable. Fortunately this strange mood won't last long.
