Fortunate the suspect was completely and permanently incapacitated. Taxpayers not paying for another criminals hospital bills, trial and incareceration. If the officer had been shot and injured, the criminal would have gotten out of jail in a few years anyway in Montgomery County. Amazing that the NAACP has not investigated the shooting.

Springfield is another Dayton, except smaller. As long as the crackheads are ruling Springfield, expect the mess to continue. Neither Dayton nor Springfield is addressing the problems(Crack, prostitution, mentally ills that shouldn't be living on their own, etc etc.), so you will keep seeing these stories for the forseeable future.

The officer is a great man who does his job trying to defend the city and family he loves. We are very lucky to have people like him looking out for all of us.

Glad to see that the police can still take out the trash! Had I been a police officer he probably would have had a lot more holes in him, Great job for the men and women in the police force.

He got what he deserved. You point a gun at a police officer, then you get what is coming to you. Its time this country gives back cops the authority to rid our streets of punks like this, and thousands of others. Every night on the news, shootings in dayton, springfield etc. This country needs to really see what is going on in the streets with all of these punks, maybe when they see the reality, they will stand up, and support our police officers. Good riddance.

Ha Ha, Ronez! Doesn't surprise me one bit, that place is one giant drug deal gone bad. They should just post officers at the entrance and exit of Ronez and take them out one by one. I hope more stupid thug wanna be's get what they deserve, or get out of Springfield. Either way, good riddance.

Unbelielvable that someone would call that brave officer who was chasing someone on drugs at 1 AM in the morning stupid while she's safe asleep in her comfy bed. I am thankful that officer is here to support us.

Sleep well tonight knowing those "stupid cops" are protecting you. Remember that the next time you call 911 for their help.

Here's a thought. Did you notice that on none of the documentation did it say that the suspect even attempted to fire the weapon? And in the other officers reports only one of them had drawn his gun and fired at the suspect? They are still trying to figure out if the suspect even fired his weapon at all. Isn't it illegal for the police to fire their weapons unless they are fired upon first? You all need to be adults about it and have enough respect for the officer and the family of the man who was shot to stop all the name calling and bickering. No one but the people there know what happened so stop the nosy speculations.

Can you tell us how to review copies of the documentation you are refering to? While I respect everyone's right to protect themselves, it appears there are a lot of unanswered questions.

This is a case that is not in anyway a justified killing. The police officer has been under scrutiny before for not following chain of command. This was a Son, Uncle, Father, Nephew & Grandson that was murdered! Yes, it was a man in a uniform that pulled the trigger. Just a uniform. A true police officer that is protecting the citizens would have never handled it the way he did. Just wait until everything is revealed and oh how stupid some of you will feel. God be with this young mans family.

You are a sick person. You did not even know the person who was shot or even the whole story so why would you type something so horrible about a person that had a family that cared about him. Until the WHOLE story is told we can not comment on either side.

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Scorpio

Something about your personality or appearance is drawing a lot of attention today, Scorpio. People insist on watching when you'd rather that they minded their own business. Your stubborn streak at a time when flexibility would be easier. Be kind to those with long memories, especially if you think you might run into them again at some point in your life. If you can't think of anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
