You forgot Stallones on Kirkman and Conroy...it may be casual but it has the best Italian food in Orlando. Joey Stallone makes all the dishes himself each day and it is so packed at lunchtime you can barely get in. My favorites? The penne la vodka, italian combo sandwich, wedding soup, cheescake and their chicken parmigiana. All are absolutely superb!!!

Par for course that a chain restaurant is leading the pack once again in good old O'town.

Now that's what I call a real bevy of culture in this so called "world class city" (as coined by the clowns that run this here circus).

Incredible - best BBQ - a greasy chain Bubbalous? Sonny's a/k/a Runnys puts that to shame.

Real BBQ - got to go to Uncle Jones, despite a couple food service issues, all in all best REAL bbq around.

Gators Dockside has wings that are a lot like the ones you get at Winn-Dixie, for real wings its got to be Beef O Brady's, consistent size, sauce flavor and, equally important outstanding service - not the sit and wait 15 minutes to be greeted at Gators, especially the Lake Mary Boulevard location

If you like BBQ I'd recommend Cecils Texas Syle BBQ on S. Orange, just south of Michigan on the west side of the road. Not only good smoked meat - not grilled, but excellent sides in their buffet. Wildside on Summerlin at Washington ain't to be sneezed at either. Either place, you are NOT going to finish the ribs they give you at either place. Ditton recommendation at Uncle Jones also - I ate there regularly while working in Altamonte and they also have a nice lunch buffet with soul food stuff. You will get fed. Old Henry has been in business for years.

ate at uncle jones once. the place is just a little too scary to us somewhat hygenic folk.

Sonnys is average, bubbalous good, best though is Kellers in altamonte and lake mary.

There's no need to be pretentious about this matter. The locals who participated in this survey don't strike me as an overdiversified bunch to begin with. The Foodie's only bolstered that opinion.

Call me a snob, but I prefer the word 'dine', as opposed to "go out to eat".

As far as the Xanax goes ... Get off the short bus and get "over the counter culture". That's like so, way old.

Here, here! There were good unique restaurants in this town 20 years ago but then development happened & in came the chains, & the palates that prefer them.

I believe that Kobe on 436 is not moving. Kobe on 434 near I-4 is taking over what was Manny's steakhouse.

BTW - Some of the so called "winners" by the public (not by Mr Joseph,) just about twisted arms to get the votes. This is not encouraging and gives an unfair opinion of mediocre places.

Straub's no way, both my great aunt and I got sick from food poisioning there, it wasn't clean, neither were the help.
Never go back, what about Tuscan Brio at Mall of Mellina and in Winter Park, its the best , and the only place I will eat Lamb, as they have the best lamb chops.

Orlando is a very pretentious town with little coulture and still incredibly inflated real estate prices. The restaraunt industry mirrors this as all other facets of the community. There is little "real" job opprotunity or a food scene. Good paying jobs and class eateries go hand-in-hand. So because tourism is king along with 85,000 jobs with an average pay rate of 8.50 hour, you have such an influx of low budget chain eateries that tourists from around the world can identify with and the locals can attempt to patronize on thier weekly pay.

BOMA best buffet...you have to be kidding!!! Had our Christmas meal, there last year, will never go back. Horrible. We only went because of all the great comments read on-line and elsewhere.

Agree Outback is sliding, used to love their rib-eye steak, now that cut is coming from closer to the chuck end then the loin end.
