Here’s what I mean:

On TV they were interviewing a jobless couple whose house was in foreclosure. On the driveway was a Nissan. I shouted,“Guys, the Japanese thank you for jobs.”

Ugh! Jobless Americans driving foreign cars...putting even more Americans out of work!

Reality: the Japanese have been luring us for years. They give their vehicles American names. And incredibly, media promote them for free! Plus, they flood us with seductive ads. So no wonder we’re sucked in.

As to that quality pitch, see the March ‘09 J.D. Power report: Buick at No. 1 tops Lexus, and Lincoln & Mercury are in top 5. Today, differences between Japanese and American, exist only in persons' minds influenced by media who push Japanese cars. Most media are BIASED.

For years they’ve been touting Japanese cars and knocking American ones. Japanese dealers say:“Consumer Reports says, Edmunds says.” FOR FREE, these people help sell MILLIONS of Japanese cars. Their constant bashing of the Big 3 makes it a nightmare for them to compete with the Japanese. And because the Big 3 are such a major part of our economy, this costs us JOBS, JOBS, JOBS!

But the Japanese say,“We give America jobs. We build cars here and hire Americans to build them.”

Big deal! They assemble SOME here. They want people to think:“Because they’re built here, they’re American.” HOGWASH! They’re Japanese! Foreign!

And here’s more reality: MOST Japanese and Korean vehicles sold here are shipped from Asia.

But no matter where vehicles are built or their parts come from, what really counts is where profits go. FACT: every year Japanese parent-corporations in Japan reap BILLIONS from vehicles sold in America. Yes, 31% of their income comes from the U.S.A.(see Google) These billions help people in Japan, not us in America!

We’re Japan’s cash cow! This, despite our almost 50 million people with no health care, 37 million in poverty, 12 million kids hungry each day, 77,000 bridges needing rebuilding, highways crumbling, inner-city schools deteriorating, and unemployment highest in 26 years.

Considering all that, we let Japan milk us for billions? Can we build cars in Japan? Nope! In ‘08 they imported a puny 10,000 of ours. But they sold us 3 MILLION!!! Square shooters, NOT!

They’ve even refused to buy apples from us! They’re fiercely loyal to their own products. They close their market to us but then FEAST on us!

And, oh yes, the South Koreans are also parasites on us. They sell us 800,000 cars a year but buy only 6,000 of ours.

At least the Germans, who build and sell cars here, reciprocate by buying lots of ours. So do the French, Spanish, Italians, British, Chinese, and South Americans. Yes, we build and sell cars almost everywhere but in Japan and South Korea.

Another bummer: many Big 3 dealers have a conflict of interest. They also have Japanese or Korean dealerships. So, they DON’T DO what THEY SHOULD DO to sell lots more American cars, that is, push:“DRIVE AMERICAN!” This would put many Americans back to work.

Anyway, it’s estimated from “FOREIGN-CAR-I-TIS,” we’ve already lost a million jobs. And if we continue blind to this, estimates say up to 3 million more jobs will be lost. And some predict with trickle down it could be 4 million.

As to the 375,000 or so jobs we get from foreigners to assemble vehicles, well, if from that we lose 3-4 million jobs, that’s OK?

And now with U.S. backing, GM and Chrysler will become stronger. Even so, the Japanese and Koreans are circling vultures hoping to devour the 100 year industry we created. Shall we help them?

NO! NO! Let’s back the new GM and Chrysler, as well as Ford, which on its own is strengthening. For two months now, Ford has outsold Toyota. Finally, we’re starting to smell Japanese manure!

Support America’s economy! DRIVE AMERICAN!

"God bless America, land that I love, stand beside her...."

Stan, the man,

So, you think I'm a dude!

Boy, if you're not selling Japanese cars, I'll eat my hat. I feel like I'm in a Toyota or Honda dealership showroom floor, and you're giving me the standard pitch of trashing American competition.

Of course, you'll deny this. But your bashing gives you away. Ordinary persons no matter what they think would not publicly go that far. Yours is a patent sales tactic and pattern. You don't sell on the merits of your product, but on how putrid supposedly your competition's products are That's unethical selling and shameful.

Yes, SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!

You insult millions of hard-working, conscientious persons who are part of building American vehicles. Where's your conscience?

So, fan of Japan, supporter of its economy at the expense of your own country's, builder of futures for Japanese children, please keep in mind, what you seem to have forgotten: You live in America!

And most appropriately remember:

JAPAN AIRLINES IS READY WHEN YOU ARE! They have some darn good one-way fares.

Actually, I am not surprised. Another biased journalist who drives a Toyota putting out a BS list so that he will get that free trip to Cancun from the friendly Toyota PR rep that takes him to lunch every month.

And a little research shows that almost EVERY SINGLE foreign car that this author states is the "best of the best" has been plagued with serious DEFECTS and RECALLS.

The Toyota Camry has had some SERIOUS safety issues over the years. There have been recalls on the airbags, year after year. One year, the seams were defective, so the bags didn't inflate.
Another year, they didn't deploy at all. Another recall corrected the fact that the bags were installed sloppily and didn't deploy properly.

The Camry has had issues with the FRAME not being adequately welded. Also, there were Camry issues with the axle not being assembled correctly.
There have been Camry recalls on the mechanism that is supposed to secure a child safety seat in the rear.

Toyota recalled over 200,000 Lexus models in Jan. 09 for leaky fuel lines.

http://pressroom.toyota.com/pr/tms/lexus/lexu...

In Jan. 09, 1.3 MILLION Toyota vehicles based on the Yaris platform (i.e., Scions) were recalled for problems with a foam pad near the seat belt which could ignite in a crash and cause serious burns.

http://www.automotorblog.com/13-million-toyot...

The Sequoia and Tundra have had REPEATED recalls for the SAME problems: "Toyota is once again recalling the Tundra and Sequoia for faulty ball joints, with 553,000 vehicles from model years 2004-2007 affected. This is second time in two years that Toyota has recalled the vehicles for this problem. "

Keep in mind, Toyota issued this recall after repeatedly denying consumer complaints.

http://www.trucktrend.com/features/news/2007/...

The 2003 Honda Odyssey was riddled with serious safety issues. They recalled 1,099,796 vehicles in April 04 because the gears suddenly locked up, causing crashes.

They had already recalled over 8800 of these same vehicles for faulty gas line in 2003.

http://www.hondaproblems.com/

“Transmission failure with the Honda Accord is a widespread problem in models made from the early 2000s. The 2003 Honda Accord appears to be the worst year for transmission failure.”

The 2008 Accord has received numerous complaints for premature brake wear.

They have also recalled over 300,000 Accords for "corrosion which could cause the electrical circuit breaker inside the motor area to fail and could prevent the motor from working, potentially leading to a crash."

Last fall, Honda was forced to recall vehicles because the airbags were defective.

http://www.consumeraffairs.com/recalls04/2008

2008 Honda Civic had recalls b/c of serious problems with fuel lines, which could cause fires. http://www.automotive.com/used-cars/recalls/

Numerous people have had serious problems with Honda Civic Hybrids. The car inexplicably stops charging. Computer problems. Motors have been replaced.

How could this vehicle logically be listed as the Best of the Best? Are they JOKING?

The bottom line is that you need to do objective research and not rely on agenda driven publications that issue slanted opinions to line their pockets rather than serve the public.

This is FALSE.

The Big Three produce reliable, high-quality vehicles year after year.

In 2009, Buick ranked the HIGHEST (tied only with Jaguar) in Dependability by J.D. Power.“Buick has ranked among the top 10 nameplates each year since the study was last redesigned in 2003"

Fact: J.D. Power & Associates has named Ford Ranger the Highest Ranked Midsize Pick-Up in its 2009 Vehicle Dependability Study.

Fact: Kelley Blue Book named Ford Motor Company winner of the 2009 Brand Image Award for the “Most Rugged Truck Brand”

Fact: Ford has has more trucks on the road with 250,000 miles than any other brand. If that not PROOF of RELIABILITY I don't know what is.
