Eminent domain OK'd for traffic light

The City Council has given the go-ahead to Mayor Gail Mitchell to use eminent domain to acquire land from an apartment complex for a traffic light at the new Target store, which is scheduled to open June 27.

It seems that everytime the land owner doesn't want to give up or sell his land, local government muscle uses the eminent domain to acquire it.
Liberty and justice for some..........

Another case of the Government taking control. Like all the crowds in O'Fallon and the push to add more money to the city pot at the expense of the tax payer. Any of these political pros ever think of traffic flow studies "BEFORE" adding new businesses to the area. Or how about traffic light timing so you don't start and stop at every light. Might save a few dollars in gas. Local government trying to act like large city politicians never works. Fix the mistakes at the tax payer expense.
