I think you all should read your Bible a bit more and stop judging this man. All people stumble and even at times fall. I say if he has turned his life around back to Christ, and God has given Ted the ok... he should started his ministry back up

I must respond to Richard Thrower on two accounts,
firstly it was Jesus himself who taught his followers to judge, but they had to judge rightly, insisting they “judge with righteous judgment”(John 7:24) and He praised a man who “rightly judged”(Luke 7:43).

Paul shamed the Corinthian Christians because no one among them was willing to “judge the smallest matters”(1Co 6:2). As the Apostle Paul wrote,“He who is spiritual judges all things” for “we have the mind of Christ”(1Co 2:15-16).

The true message is that We must let GOD's WORD JUDGE people and then, based on the BIBLE, we must speak God's Word in LOVE and never hypocritically.

IF we look at some things that the WORD OF GOD judges, and we judge those same things in accordance with the WORD, then we are not judging people, God's Word is Judging them and 1Cor.6:9 states: "Make no mistake about it: those who lead immoral lives, or worship idols, or who are adulterers, homosexuals of any kind, or thieves, exploiters, drunkards, gossips or embezzlers will NOT inherit the kingdom of heaven."

Secondly, according to the Bible: Elders, Pastors and Bishops must meet the highest standards of probity and morality - they are to be chosen from the best of the best.

In particular they must be "Blameless". This means above reproach, a good man whose life cannot be spoken against".

Certainly there are many who, before they became converted may have sinned grievously, as Saul/Paul did in condemning true believers to death. But after entering the faith and becoming a church leader, there can be no reproach worthy of public rebuke.

If Ted Haggard has repented his sins and has stopped his former immoral behaviour then he can be forgiven and come back into the church. But, not to an office of church leader, because his Christian life can now be spoken against and as such is no longer above reproach.
