It all comes down to "custody", she'll be in "custody" of the state for 20+ years.

Virginia has a system for resolving custody that can--and often will--bring out the worst in judges, in psychologists, in lawyers, and in parents--mothers AND fathers.

I'd say in most cases the courts generally give custody to the mother. So to break from that practice, I believe the court recognized a serious flaw in her character....and it would appear she just demonstrated how flawed her character really is. She is obviously *not* emotionally stable!

Actually you can’t say that. 9 times out of 10 if one of the parents has remarried they can provide a more stable environment and usually will win custody. Having 2 small children myself I would go crazy if someone took them from me. I can understand, through I cannot condone her actions. What she did is wrong and unfortunately she will pay the ultimate price. If only she had thought of the consequence before she acted so irrationally. I feel sorry for her.

This only goes to show that the judge made the right decision on custody.

To Ms. Brown, she had already paid the ultimate price--losing custody of her child. I guess the courts thought that a father and a stay at home step mom beats out THE mom every time.
It is a sad situation for all involved.

One should never hire a hitman. A 2000.00 hit is a very low price. When the undercover officer as for 2k, she should have known it was a setup. Most hit today go for 10-15k, some even higher. But 2k? Most people would not offer shooting a goat for that.
Stupid woman. She will get 8 years if guilty and will only serve 3.

That $2K was supposed to be a down payment according to the article, not full price.

While this arrest prevented a great tragedy and the loss of life. This is still tragic, a child has lost a loving mother and a woman who at one time was a near model citizen is now incarcerated with her life utterly shattered.

Fry that hag! I have no sympathy for her. It is often these 'pillars of the community' that do dumb stuff like this.

It's fascinating how you can so easily summarize a very complex situation based on some gossip you probably heard around town. So, did you also hear about the things the father has done to his son? Or the favortism the guardian ad litem showed? Why don't you share that with everyone...?

Caren Brown might not be perfect, and she's obviously done some things wrong, but keep your small town gossip to yourself. You obviously think you're in "the know", but clearly you know very little.

I knew Caren on a personal level and I am extrmely saddened by what has happened. My prayers and thoughts are with her and her son. Caren will find a way to have a positive outcome out of all this suffering. That is the kind of person she is.

The father gets custody over the mother! The judge saw something that wasn't right about her to make that ruling. Now we know,"She is crazy".

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Gemini

It's easy to become distracted and confused because your mind is wandering about in all sorts of different directions. You're also in a highly impressionable state so will believe almost anything you're told now, whether it's true or a total flight of fancy. Be wary of muddling others by only telling them half the story or letting your imagination fill in any gaps.
