living in cary

we have lived in cary for 36 years so we have seen the many changes. i would move today if the house wasn't paid for. cary has grown too big. now i hear talk that gangs are moving into the area.

Where did you here this? What neighborhood do you live in?

What a joke - we don't have gangs here. I have a teenager and I would know if it were a problem. I'm thankful my daughter has had the opportunity to grow up in this area of the country. She's a good kid, stays out of trouble, and is growing up in a great environment.

Tracy obviously has her head pushed under a rock and does not want to see the outward signs of gangs in Cary. It's a sad fact that gangs are present but we are lucky that Cary PD is working hard to control the problem.

According to Cary PD, there are at least 11 known gangs operating in/around Western Wake. The former Police Chief of Cary was forced to "resign" because he ask the Town Manager for additional money to form a Gang Unit for Cary. However, after pulling his head from the rectum of local developers, the town manager (bill coleman) forced the Chief to resign. Having a "gang unit" in Cary was NOT good for the business community. I wonder how many people will have to die before Cary realizes that gangs now control the city, like over in Durham. Tracy above is one of the developers/realtor/builders types who will say anything to keep the money rolling in.

So who are you going to believe -- people who make a living on commissions or the local paper?

Wake & Durham Counties are getting $2.5 million dollars to fight local gangs. Oh realtors, realtors, realtors......now how safe is Raleigh & Cary?

Yellow Dog - I may be a Realtor in the area but I also have a daughter in the system that is honest and open about what is going on in her school. So, I don't have my head in the sand and I haven't seen any evidence of gangs in and around her schoool.

I'm 14 in the area. I have seen NO gang activity.

maybe you don't know what your looking at. ever thought of that. It's there I work in it everyday...it's not much but it is there.

Cary AND Raleigh are very safe compared to places like Camden, NJ, New Orleans, Baltimore, etc etc.

I'm 18 and have lived in Cary all my life, there are people who try to act like they're in a gang, but they is no harmful activity. The MS13's could cause threats but for all that other stuff it's just a bunch of fake kids trying to look tough...REALLY, lol.

I lived in Cary for three years and couldn't wait to move out. There is violent crime there in Cary, Durham and Raleigh. With the high unemployment rates, more crime is taking place in what used to be the safer areas. Also with the huge influx of illegals, they have no care for any laws. The news reported quite often about drunk driving arrests on illegals. Gang activity has been rumored at the new Cary high school just built. Any realtor stating there is not any crime is not being truthful.

LOL, there is no crime in Cary...stealing at the mall is as interesting as it gets. And Cary High was not just built...my mother graduated from there in the 70's. And I went there as well, so did my older sister. And I'm not sure there are many schools without some bad or want to be bad kids there, even christian schools have bad kids...it's not that serious...I promise...I know from expierience

Tell ya what - vote for someone who isn't in it to see developers get rich - District A- LORI BUSH.

That's funny. Lori Bush is the one who proposed the motion to approve the Highcroft development while she was on P&Z. Check the record.

Doesn't exactly sound like she's keeping developers from getting rich.

Anyone who supports her because they think she's going to slow down growth hasn't done their homework.

of course there are gangs in cary residing near western wake hospital,in and around the post office there down the road and around maynard and kildaire farm rd.
drugs are sold out of the high schools and heroin can be bought for 20 dollars a hit
